    Data/Assessment Officer

    Purpose of the Role

    The Data/Assessment Officer is responsible for managing and analysing student assessment data to support evidence-based decision-making and improve academic outcomes. This role involves coordinating the collection, processing, and reporting of assessment results, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and providing insights that inform teaching strategies and school performance. The Data/Assessment Officer works closely with academic staff, management, and external stakeholders to maintain effective assessment practices aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

    Data Management and Analysis

    • Collect, organize, and maintain student assessment data from various sources and ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
    • Develop and manage databases and data systems to track academic progress and performance trends.
    • Analyze assessment results to identify patterns, strengths, and areas for improvement across classes, subjects, and cohorts.
    • Produce regular reports and visualizations to inform academic leadership, teachers, and stakeholders.

    Assessment Coordination

    • Coordinate and schedule formative and summative assessments in line with the academic calendar.
    • Liaise with teaching staff to ensure timely administration of assessments and adherence to school policies.
    • Support the development and implementation of standardized assessment tools and procedures.
    • Monitor compliance with assessment guidelines and ensure fairness and consistency in testing practices.

    Reporting and Communication

    • Prepare detailed assessment reports for internal and external stakeholders, including parents, teachers, and regulatory bodies.
    • Present data insights during academic meetings to guide curriculum planning and intervention strategies.
    • Communicate effectively with teachers to support data-driven teaching practices and interventions.
    • Prepare accurate school transcripts for students’ university applications and school transfers

    Quality Assurance and Compliance

    • Ensure that all assessment data collection and handling comply with relevant data protection and safeguarding policies.
    • Support internal audits, external inspections, examination boards related to academic data and assessments.
    • Collaborate with the academic leadership team to implement continuous improvements in assessment processes.

    Professional Development and Collaboration

    • Stay updated on best practices and innovations in educational assessment and data management.
    • Participate in training sessions and contribute to capacity building for staff on assessment literacy and data usage.
    • Ensure consistent grading despite variations in difficulty using the Uniform Mark Scale as well as supporting staff in reporting grades ar IGCSE and IAL

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    Assessment Readiness and Timeliness

    • All scheduled assessments are conducted on time and in accordance with the academic calendar.

    Data Accuracy and Integrity

    • Maintain at least 98% accuracy in assessment records and databases with no critical data entry errors.

    Reporting Efficiency

    • 90% of assessment reports are generated and distributed within the agreed timeframes after each assessment cycle.

    Stakeholder Feedback

    • At least 85% positive feedback from academic staff and leadership on the relevance, clarity, and usefulness of reports and insights.

    Compliance and Safeguarding

    • 100% adherence to data protection and safeguarding policies, with zero breaches or incidents.

    Support to Academic Staff

    • Provide at least one data-driven performance insight per term to each department to support teaching strategies and interventions.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
    • Proficiency in data management tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, or data visualization platforms).
    • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Clear communication skills for presenting data insights to various audiences.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality.
    • Collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovation.
    • Understanding of assessment practices in educational settings.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Statistics, Data Management, Psychology, or a related field.
    • Prior experience in data analysis, assessment coordination, or educational research preferred.
    • Familiarity with British or international school curriculum and assessment systems is an advantage.
    • Knowledge of data protection and safeguarding best practices.

    School Librarian

    OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

    The Librarian is responsible for the overall management and development of the school library, including the maintenance of the book collection, promotion of reading, and support for teaching and learning.

    RELATIONSHIPS

    The Librarian is selected by the Director of Schools in consultation with the HOS/DHOS and HR.

    The Librarian will report directly to the KS Coordinator. However, in the absence of the KS Coordinator, he/she will report to the HOS/DHOS who will also provide strategic leadership and day to day oversight. The Librarian works closely with teachers, pupils and school administrators; and collaborates with other librarians, educational professionals and literary organisations.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Library Operations

    • Manage the library collection, including selection, acquisition, cataloguing, classification, and maintenance of books and digital resources.
    • Maintain library records, inventory, and overdue systems using a Library Management System (LMS).
    • Develop and implement clear library policies and standard operating procedures.
    • Develop and manage the library budget in coordination with school leadership.

    Learning Support and Curriculum Integration

    • Support teaching and learning by curating age-appropriate resources and recommending subject-relevant materials.
    • Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver cross-curricular, library-based projects.
    • Deliver library orientation sessions for new students and teachers.
    • Introduce students to research skills and digital literacy using databases and online tools.

    Reading Promotion and Literacy Development

    • Promote reading and literacy through structured reading programs, book clubs, themed displays, author visits, and storytelling sessions.
    • Organise termly library events such as book fairs, reading competitions, and literacy weeks.
    • Ensure the library promotes diversity and inclusion through a wide range of reading materials.

    Library Environment and Engagement

    • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and stimulating library environment.
    • Provide a quiet study space and support individual learning needs.
    • Track library usage and borrowing statistics, and use insights to improve engagement.

    Staff Supervision and Professional Development

    • Manage, supervise, and train library staff, student helpers, and volunteers.
    • Stay informed about educational technology, reading trends, and new media formats.

    KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

    • Library Management: All library resources must be catalogued and organised using the approved Library Management System (LMS).
    • Student Engagement: At least 80% of students should actively borrow books each term.
    • Literacy Initiatives: A minimum of three literacy events or reading initiatives should be conducted every term.
    • Curriculum Support: Library-based lessons or projects should be delivered with at least 60% of the teaching staff each term.
    • Resource Availability: All new resources must be shelved and available within three days of acquisition.
    • Budget Oversight: The library budget should be tracked and managed with zero overspending each term.
    • User Satisfaction: Annual student and teacher surveys should reflect at least a 90% satisfaction rate with the library environment.
    • Digital Literacy: All students from KS2 and above should be introduced to at least one research database or digital tool each term.

    • Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
    • Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing circumstances
