    Junior Communications Officer

    Position Summary:

    Neem Foundation is looking to hire a Communications Officer that is able to create and implement communications strategies to further the goals of the organization. The selected individual shall report directly to senior communication officer based in the Headquarters. This person will work across all communication activities of the Foundation based on the goals and needs of each project or department.

    Job Functions:

    • Provide periodic project update reports
    • Develop, support and promote Neem Foundation’s goals, including message development, social media content creation and media
    • Document success stories across the various projects
    • Develop and disseminate promotional materials that increase our visibility among local community members, government agencies, CSO group and International Development partners
    • Build and relationships with journalists, bloggers, investors and donor audiences that will help advance our work
    • Ensure digital messaging content aligns with our brand’s identity and message

    Qualifications, Skills, Experience:

    Education:

    University Degree in in communication, journalism, photographing, media or related areas.

    Job Requirements:

    • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
    • Strong sense of and respect for confidentiality
    • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
    • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience managing social media accounts
    • Ability to analyze and solve problems
    • Ability to lead and train staff
    • Ability to manage conflict and resolve complaints
    • Ability to work as part of a team; build and manage professional work relationships with stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in using Micro-soft office package

    Language Skills:

    English Language (Fluent), Kanuri and Hausa

    Profile of Behaviour:

    Confident, attention to detail, independent judgment, self-starter, reliable, team-player, friendly, flexible, disciplined, adaptable, numerate

    Added Advantage:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Practical experience working with victims/ survivors of insurgency.
    • Experience in managing Human Resources
    • Kanuri speaker
