    Short term Consultancy for The Challenge Initiative (TCI)

    The Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI) is charged with the mandate of social mobilization and linking communities to the facilities in the state. As a critical partner in the provision of Technical support to state-led implementation, one of the key areas of support of CCSI to TCI/Nigeria and partnering States is to achieve improved social norms in favour of family planning in TCI geographies, most especially at households and community levels.

    TCI is currently implementing in 10 states (Abia, Anambra, Bauchi, Delta, Kano, Niger, Ogun, Plateau, Rivers and Taraba).

    Objective

    CCSI is seeking short-term consultants to support TCI states in implementing the demand generation strategy in a timely and efficient manner in 5 out of the 10 states namely – Abia, Anambra, Plateau, Rivers and Taraba.

    This consultancy will be for an initial period of 3 months (April - June) with the possibility of extension, subject to satisfactory performance.

    Scope of Work

    The consultant will be expected to:

    • Work closely with the Centre for Communication and Social Impact (CCSI), TCI DG Technical Support Lead (TSL) and the state team to support all aspects of implementation of the demand generation strategy
    • Support implementation of TCI social mobilization activities as outlined in the demand generation strategy
    • Coordinate and provide technical SBCC support to a team of social mobilizers within LGAs in TCI states
    • Serve as a member of the state team on mobilization coordination and implementation
    • Track and document social mobilization activities at the state level
    • Coordinate social mobilizers for service delivery outreaches
    • Support social mobilization data management tasks (data collation, data analysis and results reporting)
    • Provide administrative support as needed

    Criteria

    • Graduate holder of BA/BSc or HND in Communication or related field
    • Previous experience in social mobilization OR community work.
    • Familiarity with the NURHI Demand generation approaches will be an advantage
    • Experience in using Microsoft excel
    • Strong report writing skills
    • Residence within TCI states will be an advantage.
    • Ability to communicate fluently in the local language will be an added advantage
    • Should be familiar with the terrain and cultural nuances of the state.
