Call For Agricultural Experts at Fluut Solutions Limited

About the Engagement

Fluut Solutions Limited is sourcing experienced agricultural value chain experts on behalf of a development partner implementing a smallholder support programme in Northern Nigeria. We are building a roster of qualified consultants and firms across four value chains — Tomato, Ginger, Cocoa, and Dairy — for potential short-term engagements.

Responsibilities

Depending on the value chain and assignment, selected experts may be engaged to conduct field assessments, baseline studies, and value chain analyses; design and deliver farmer training and extension programmes; provide technical advisory on production systems and agronomic practices; support business model design and market linkage strategies; develop knowledge products, reports, and training materials; and contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in at least one of the listed value chains, demonstrated experience working with smallholder farmers in Northern Nigeria or comparable contexts, strong understanding of production systems, market dynamics, and value chain actors, and previous experience working with development organisations, INGOs, or bilateral donor-funded projects.

Desirable

In tomato, experience with integrated pest and disease management, particularly Tuta absoluta for tomato, familiarity with gender-responsive programming in agricultural contexts, and proficiency in local languages spoken in Northern Nigeria. In dairy, experience in breeding and artificial insemination.
