    Africa Pricing & Margin Leader

    Role Summary/Purpose

    • The Pricing & Margins Leader is responsible for effective and efficient pricing and margin decision making within the zone.
    • The role monitors the margin trends and drives improvement programs in conjunction with the Modality and LCT Leaders to reach the Zone profitability targets.
    • The Pricing & Margin Manager works very closely with the needed CMI and Regional Product Leaders to set pricing guidelines and targets.


    Essential Responsibilities
    Pricing management:

    • Owns the development, maintenance and improvement of relevant price and margin decision making tools used by the Commercial Teams.
    • Sets and coordinates effective price decision making processes, SOPs, escalation matrixes and OpMechs to ensure quick and appropriate pricing decisions in LCTs
    • Works with the Global CMI team to provide the pricing and margin data analytics and dashboards for the Market & Price Reviews.
    • In conjunction with Finance and Modality Managers sets Modality CM targets for the LCTs to be used in the VC plans and management of overall commercial KPIs.

    Price setting:

    • Work with the Zone Modality Leaders to monitor market prices and set target pricing and margins within the relevant quoting tools
    • Work with Zone, Region SHS & relevant Global CMI SME’s to set the relevant and needed OVC standard reserves and product price points with the aim to program the quoting tools appropriately each year for both the direct and indirect markets in the Zone.
    • Analyze, report and review the OVC reserves utilization and trends to drive productivity with execution teams
    • Monitor and work with relevant finance resources to optimize Transfer prices within the Africa Zone

    Quality Specific Goals:

    • Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations and other GEHC policies as they apply to this job type/position.
    • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines.
    • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Strong business acumen and 3-5 years’ experience in at least one of Sales/Services/Commercial/Financial roles
    • Extensive Experience in Price management within equipment sales
    • Strong financial tools(excel), technical and computer usage skills
    • Fluent in English with good communication and presentation skills
    • Proven success in complex stakeholder management and influencing
    • Reliable, responsive, attentive to detail.

    GO-HR Operational Leader, Africa

    Role Summary/Purpose

    • The GO-HR Operations Leader is responsible for leading a team who will carry out all transactions required to support the employee’s life cycle with the organization, and playing the liaison role between the business EHRM/HRBP, GMS (where applicable), Immigration and other GE HR COE’s.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Lead GO-HR operational services such as On-boarding, Off boarding, Payroll and Benefits (processing and administration) employee lifecycle management and ensure people, structures, processes and systems are aligned to deliver key objectives efficiently and effectively.
    • Be the point of contact for GE leaders, employees & suppliers – in conjunction with other GE departments.
    • Deliver HR transactions to the businesses ensuring all deadlines are met and customers (HRM and employees) are satisfied with the level of service.
    • Proactively establish and drive process improvements and leverage capability of the GE GMS team where needed
    • Awareness of Local Employment Laws & ensure local employment norms are met. Proactively seeks input from external parties to keep the business abreast of legislative and process changes and updates.
    • Understand customer requirements and meet global key performance indicators and timelines. Integrate agreed performance targets and responsibilities and carry out regular follow up and review of scorecards/metrics.
    • Create a continuous improvement culture, proactively identifying processes for improvement, supporting the enterprise standards and project team in the delivery of these initiatives and driving change as well as responding to business requirements.
    • Maintain high standard of accuracy and quality, taking accountability for compliance with relevant legal and GE policy requirements. With particular focus on meeting all payroll financial requirements.
    • Liaise with HRM & Line Managers to keep abreast of business requirements to ensure that the GO-HR operational team is resourced and trained effectively.
    • Lead, develop, coach and motivate a team of GO-HR operational professionals to deliver the GO-HR vision across GE in the countries this role oversees.
    • Support the Third Party Supplier leader in maintaining a strong relationship between GE and 3rd party suppliers e.g. P&B Vendors, Medical & Insurance vendors etc.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, major in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Operations or related field or equivalent work experience
    • Minimum of 8 years of experience in a variety of HR roles, both staff and client based.
    • At least 3 years of experience in a HR leadership role·
    • Excellent computer operation & presentation skills.
    • Relish and stimulate change a demonstrated change agent with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
    • Process and metrics oriented with exposure to continuous improvement principles (LEAN, Six Sigma, FastWorks etc.).
    • Cheerful positive ‘can do’ attitude with ability to manage pressure creatively.
    • Effective communication & excellent people management skills are a must.
    • Knowledge of Shared Services ethos and key drivers for success.
    • Strong sense of customer orientation.
    • Knowledge of local Labor regulations.
    • Fluency in English and local language(s) is preferred

    Global Operations Controller SSA

    Role Summary/Purpose
    The position oversees the business activity performed by Global Ops &owns the corporate balance sheet &closing activities across SSA;responsible for managing sub-regional controllers including closing&reporting and the point of contact for the business controllers& manages the overall quality of reported financial information including the Corporate balance sheet &the business DR4s prepared by Global Ops. He/She is responsible for coordinating migrations,system implementation &key initiatives.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Managing the Closing team activities including closing reporting and account reconciliation cycles ensuring high quality and timely delivery of financial information.
    • Own the Corporate closing & reporting activities in SSA including balance sheet reviews, account reconciliation quality and representation letter submissions. The Global Ops controller is the single point of contact for the Global Corporate Controllership team.
    • Understanding and validating the quality of financial information across Corporate and DR4s related processes to confirm the accuracy of reported information.
    • Understand the internal control environment across all business processes and ensure that they are designed and operating effectively
    • Responsibility for providing training to the Record to Report team on accounting policies and coaching the Global Operations team.
    • Become a trusted partner for the business. Understand and anticipate their needs, and help the Global Ops deliver on critical requirements. Establish oneself as the point of contact for the various business constituents
    • Build and leverage strong cross functional relationships both in the center and with key business stakeholders
    • Work with the business to understand the cost dynamics of the center teams and ensure that we are achieving productivity goals.
    • Ensure clear and timely communication to a diverse set of stakeholders on closing, account reconciliations and other key initiatives

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and relevant financial and leadership experience
    • Experience building up teams and processes in a multi-cultural, international environment, ideally in one of GE’s industrial businesses
    • Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
    • CPA/ ACCA qualification and Big 4 experience
    • Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas.
    • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills, PowerPoint
    • Fluency in English
    • Confidence / Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions; confidence to approach business leaders with difficult messages and defend position; for example, work closely with business leaders to achieve business objectives while driving R2R/controllership/GE Values.
    • Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
    • Experience in a matrix environment
    • Adaptable/flexible: open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.
    • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

    • Previous GE experience strongly preferred
