Job Description

• As a Senior Technician in the Workshop/Roll Shop at African Steel Mill, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the rolling mill operations.
• Reporting to the Shift In-charge or Supervisor of the Rolling Mill department, you will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to maintaining equipment functionality, minimizing downtime, and upholding safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Machining of mill rolls and other machining as per drawing.
• Understanding of technical parameters of the machining job and machine capacity.
• General maintenance of the work shop machineries.
• Ensuring functional checks of machinery and equipment are carried out by his crew.
• Takes action to correct faults by instructing operators by adjustment of equipment.
• Reduce downtime to the minimum possible time by supervising and participating in re-arrangement and re-building jobs.
• Gives technical support to his superiors in the investigation and resolution of problem areas.
• Informs the supervisor immediately of difficulties and contacts maintenance personnel concerning relevant problems.
• Ensures that the workshop operators maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Responsible for maintaining proper discipline with the contractor and his employee’s.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, HSE, PPE systems and procedures and to aim at Zero accident.
• Implement procedures and records confirming to ISO for workshop.

Job Summary

• As a Ladle Man Cum Teme Man at African Steel Mills, your role is integral to ensuring the efficient operation of the Continuous Caster Machine (CCM) by overseeing ladle preparation and maintenance.
• Reporting to the Shift Charge of the Caster department, you will be responsible for a range of tasks essential to maintaining ladle integrity, refractory life, and safety standards

Responsibilities 

• Responsible for Fixing of slide gate & ladle nozzles for Carrying heats from Furnaces and partial repairing of equipment’s. To maintain the Ladle refractory records on daily basis.
• To ensure 100% free opening of Ladle at CCM without lancing.
• To achieve ladle lining life and refractory life as per standard & maintain the record on daily basis.
• Responsible for proper cleaning of fix nozzle, slight gate, collector nozzle by lancing & cleaning of Slag from ladle in each heat after cast.
• Responsible for damage of slide gate machine if any leakage of liquid metal after pouring to ladle.
• To ensure proper liquid material flow from ladle to tundish during billet casting.

Requirements

• Interested candidates should possess an HND, OND or SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification with 3 - 6 years work experience.

Responsibilities

• To maintain / troubleshoot the problems occurred for the Auxiliary AC Motors for the Entire Mill including the utilities.
• To maintain / troubleshoot the DC Drives of the Mill and auxiliary systems.
• To maintain / troubleshoot the Mill AC Drives of the Mill.
• To maintain / troubleshoot the problems occurred for the Automation system.
• To troubleshoot any kind of problem related to Field devices/process Instruments.
• To maintain/troubleshoot the Hydraulic Panels at the Control Room/Shop Floor.
• Will maintain and troubleshoot the faults of Auxiliary systems of the Rolling Mill.
• To maintain the Control /Power Panels of the EOT Cranes.

Requirements

• Should be able to check / test DC Motors and take necessary actions during any breakdown.
• Should be able to check / test the Mill AC Motors and take necessary actions during any breakdown
