    Health Analyst (Writer/Journalist)

    The role entails full coverage of health and wellness topics i.e. public health, fitness, nutrition, mental health, healthcare policies, hospitals, pharmaceuticals, medical research, and general health trends. 

    • Ensure all trending topics as they relate to health and wellness are fully covered on our platform. 
    • Conduct research to provide readers with accurate, practical, and engaging health information. 
    • Represent the company at health-related events, conferences, and press briefings. 
    • Conduct regular interviews with healthcare professionals, policymakers, industry experts, and individuals making an impact in the health sector. 
    • Create and build strategic relationships with organizations and individuals that serve as valid information sources or business partners to the company. 
    • Be the eyes and ears of the company across the health beat with timely and accurate stories. 

    Basic Requirement 

    • Minimum BSc in English, Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Health, or any related field of study. 
    • At least 2 years writing experience in a digital or print media is a must. 
    • Good command of English both in speaking and writing. 
    • Strong storytelling skills with the ability to simplify technical/medical information. 
    • Experience in interacting with people at all levels. 
    • Highly social personality with a natural zeal for health and wellness trends.

    Editor

    • Read copy or proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax in articles.  
    • Verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources. 
    • Read, evaluate, and edit article drafts or other materials submitted for publication, and confer with authors regarding changes in content, style, and organization to suit Nairametrics\' writing standard. 
    • Develop story or content ideas, considering reader or audience appeal. 
    • Prepare, rewrite, and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work. 
    • Work with the team to plan and manage the drafting of op-eds, articles, newsletters, web copy, etc. 
    • Manage the editorial process for the team\'s written products from concept development, drafting, review, copy editing, and sign-off; 
    • Work with analysts to develop a consistent tone and style for all articles, newsletters, and other content.  
    • Work with analysts and freelancers to give story guides and suggestions. 

     Basic Requirement: 

    • At least 3 years\' experience as a media Editor 
    • Excellent writing skills in English, especially as applied to press communication, financial terms, and other news content 
    • Knowledge of financial terms and interest in learning more. 
    • Expert-level proficiency as a proofreader; 
    • Experience working across digital platforms (websites, mobile, blogs, etc.) 
    • Ability to maintain focus and detail orientation when processing large amounts of information or copy 
    • Ability to collaborate with writers to understand their writing needs and maximize their impact 
    • Demonstrated ability to distill complex topics into language that is understandable to broader audiences 
    • Experience with pitching ideas to different audiences, with the ability to write compellingly to either professional or lay audiences from diverse backgrounds 
    • Demonstrated ability to work on tight deadlines.
