    Baker

    Job Summary

    • We are currently seeking for a skilled Baker with expertise in baking different types of bread and a wide range of pastries, like cookies, cakes, and pies to join our team in Owerri, and showcase your culinary talents.

    Responsibilities

    • Accurately measuring flour and baking ingredients to prepare dough for various baked goods to suite client’s demand.
    • Baking: Executing baking techniques to produce high-quality pastries.
    • Recipe Adherence: Following recipes precisely to maintain consistency in flavour, presentation, and portion sizes.
    • Food Safety: Adhering to sanitation and safety standards, including proper storage, handling, and temperature control to prevent foodborne illnesses.
    • Menu Planning: Collaborating with the Campboss to plan and develop menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements.
    • Inventory Management: Making requisition, Monitoring, and replenishing ingredient supplies, minimizing waste, and ensuring freshness.
    • Quality Control: Inspecting food items for quality, taste, and appearance before serving to maintain high standards.
    • Kitchen Organization: Maintaining an organized and clean workspace, including proper storage of utensils, equipment, and ingredients.
    • Time Management: Efficiently managing baking time to ensure timely delivery of orders and a smooth kitchen operation.
    • Team Collaboration: Coordinating with kitchen staff, such as sous chefs and assistants, to streamline tasks and maintain a harmonious working environment.
    • Adaptability: Adapting to changes in menu, kitchen processes, and accommodating special dietary requests.
    • Communication: Effectively communicating with colleague to facilitate a seamless flow of orders and information.
    • Customer Interaction: Interacting with customers to understand preferences, handle special requests, and receive feedback.
    • Problem Solving: Quickly addressing and resolving issues that may arise during pastry preparation or service.
    • Continuous Improvement: Keeping abreast of culinary trends, experimenting with new recipes, and refining baking techniques to enhance skills.

    Qualifications

    • W.A.E.C. and other certificates in related fields
    • At least 5 - 7 years of experience in the industrial catering industry.
    • Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role.
    • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters.
    • Understanding of food safety practices
    • Experience with cake decoration techniques.
    • Excellent time-management skills
    • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
    • Certification from a culinary school is a plus.
    • Be proficient in all aspects of food hygiene and stock rotation.

    Industrial Catering Camp Boss

    Job Brief

    • We are currently seeking for a passionate, and dynamic campboss, with proven experience working in deep offshore locations, who pride himself on the ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative solution to our client.     Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage daily location operations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to safety standards.
    • Coordinate all catering and janitorial services, including meal planning, preparation, and delivery.
    • Supervise the staff, providing leadership and guidance to maintain a positive work environment.
    • Monitor and manage inventory, ordering supplies as needed to meet demand.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement necessary protocols.
    • Address any issues or concerns raised by client residents or staff promptly and professionally.
    • Supervise the behaviour and training of staff according to the rules of HSEQ, Food Hygiene and Safety, HACCP, etc.
    • Collaborate with the catering team to enhance menu options and quality of service. Line inspection during meal service to ensure compliance.
    • Carry out regular inspection of the accommodation, common areas, Mess Hall, Store (dry and cold rooms) to ensure that cleaning and maintenance work have been carried out in accordance with the company and Client rules.
    • Update Timesheet attendance monthly as per crew change including overtime.
    • Prepare reports on camp operations, including food consumption, staff performance, and maintenance activities.

    Business Development Manager - Industrial Catering

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expansion in the industrial catering sector.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through market research, networking, and building strategic partnerships with key decision-makers in the industrial catering sector. 
    • Track and report on key performance metrics, including revenue growth, customer acquisition, and partnership development. 
    • Ensure that Whassan is always registered and Live in all tendering platforms (Nipex, IOC’s bid platforms).

    Requirements

    • Candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 3 - 5 years experience.
