Job Purpose
To provide pipeline Engineering expertise and support the delivery of HA & HB-Buko projects.
The HA & HB-Buko projects aim to provide circa 350-450 MMscf/d of gas to the NLNG Train-7 from 2029+, as well as 25-30 kb/d of oil and condensate for export. The projects’ projected gas supply constitutes circa 25% of the overall supply to the NLNG Train-7. The HA project completed FEED in Apr-25 and is now completing the tendering phase of the project contracts. While the HB-Buko project has initiated FEED in Q2-26. Current plan is for a joint HA/HB-Buko FID by end of Q1-27. Given the strategic importance of both projects to the NLNG Train 7, and to derisk the project execution schedule to protect the First Gas Date, a full integration and optimization of HA & HB-Buko has been endorsed by the JV partners to improve the business case and to accelerate further optimizations of the projects.
The position involves provision of technical input & assurance throughout the project lifecycle including Conceptual, FEED, Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, Installation & Commissioning stages, to safeguard design, technical and operational integrity. Managing all pipeline engineering activities and deliverables for HA & HB-Buko projects.
Responsibilities
- Design activities concentrate on unique topics (remotely guided by procedures or scarce precedents).
- Translates the guidelines and standards into practice and solves common technical challenges and provides technical recommendations which have a perceptible impact on local business performance; actively drives the identification, development and implementation of new technologies and opportunities to optimize field operations.
- Contributes to the training and guidance of other professionals in the field. May represent the Company externally as a subject matter expert with suppliers, customers, and external agencies.
- Integrates across engineering disciplines to achieve delivery.
- May have SME responsibilities for regional/global Functional community.
- Leads discipline team/tasks within design, construction, operation, or maintenance of facilities/plant, interfacing with stakeholders and managing contractors.
- Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of subsea pipeline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practice.
- Undertake responsibility for production of deliverables, which may include engineering support to the drafting office, design calculations, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third-party submissions.
- Undertake responsibility for delivery of full pipeline design scopes on projects through management of junior engineers with minimal supervision.
- Provide pipeline analysis support for projects.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers from multidisciplinary team.
- Provide detailed design and analysis of rigid pipeline systems in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guides, and scopes of work.
- Provide mechanical line sizing, integrity calculations, thermo-mechanical analysis for offshore pipelines.
- Manage the performance of detailed pipeline engineering activities including:
- Wall thickness selection
- On-bottom stability analysis
- Allowable free-span analysis
- Thermal expansion analysis
- Bottom roughness analysis
- Thermo-mechanical design (low cycle fatigue analysis, lateral buckling and walking analysis)
- Rigid spool and jumper design
- Pipeline route selection / optimization.
- Pipeline crossing design.
- Installation analysis
- Production and checking of design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specifications etc.
- Provide support for preliminary pipeline routing assessments considering all interfaces, functional requirements, manmade and geo hazards using results from geotechnical and geophysical (G&G) survey.
- Coordinate pipeline engineering support to the execution of multidiscipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule.
- Liaise with associated subsea related disciplines and understand the interfaces within a project.
- Provide pipeline engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site works.
- Supervise Pipeline Engineers and support in Quality Assurance/Quality Control of FEED and detailed design deliverables.
- Train / mentor junior and graduate engineers.
- Actively participate in relevant training to pursue continuing professional development.

- Assist with the development of the project specifications and purchase requisitions, as well providing support to bidding and subcontractor selection processes.

- Participate in Project reviews, HAZID, HAZOP and others.

Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals is desirable.
