    Quality Manager

    About the Job

    • Within the framework of the plant objectives and yearly action plans, define and implement the short, medium and long term strategies to meet the plant products specifications (official standards, market objectives, operational targets) while contributing to optimise the global costs in his/her field (clinker reactivity, raw mix composition, etc.

    What you'll be doing

    • Ensure all quality related tasks are performed in a safe and efficient manner
    • Communicate clearly on information relating to potentially dangerous situations and get confirmation that they are correctly understood.
    • Check that chemical and physical testing is correctly handled. Ensure a good utilization and a safe storage of tests and products
    • Analyse risks related to sampling points and make sure they are correctly addressed
    • Coordinate the implementation and update of the plant Quality Management System and monitor its implementation
    • Follow the quality of products on a daily basis and take all appropriate actions to ensure that customers do not receive out of specification products
    • Define internal quality objectives for intermediate products.
    • Analyse specific risks regarding quality. Implement preventive actions when necessary
    • Implement specific procedure when necessary to address quality incidents.
    • Follow and implement the evolution of products official standards
    • Define with Marketing & Sales rep. and the Production Manager the Quality contract of the plant (products specifications, plant capability, etc.
    • Design and implement the relevant Quality control plans.
    • Follow up on a daily basis the compliance with these plans in order to guarantee the quality of the products ready to be dispatched.
    • Conduct quality audit in conjunction with the TC.
    • Define the missions and objectives of his/her workforce and carry out their performance reviews, promote the quality of the work and motivate his/her personnel, develop their skills to keep abreast with new management methods and tools.
    • Analyse on a regular basis the performance level of existing products.
    • Lead the process when a new product is being developed by carrying out industrial tests, and analysis of results.
    • Evaluate impacts of the use of cementitious, alternative fuels and alternative raw materials and propose measures to prevent possible risks on products.
    • Follow-up and ensure close out of customer complaints with feedback to all relevant stakeholders.
    •  Comply with EMS Quality Instrumentation activities
    • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.

    Who you'll be working with:

    What we are looking for

    • BSc or equivalent in any engineering discipline (mechanical /electrical engineering as main subjects)
    • 5 - 10 years postgraduate experience
    • Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processes:
    • Knowlege of Raw meal preparation, burning, combustion, grinding and packing operation.
    • Commitment to the highest standards of safe work habits
    • Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
    • Good written and verbal communications skills.

    Technical competencies:

    • Working knowledge of cement manufacturing process.
    • Working knowledge of equipment operation procedure.

    Quality Control Analyst

    About the Job 

    • The Quality Control Analyst works with other members of the quality/plant team to maximize operational efficiency in an environment of continuous improvement; to provide timely and accurate process control information, to ensure that all testing equipment is operating properly, and to certify that the completed product meets intended specifications.

    What you'll be doing

    • Ensure that the work area in the Laboratory is safe, by identifying, reporting and rectifying all safety deviations through use of near miss reporting, Audits and Planned Tasks Observations methods.
    • Ensure that end products comply with the plant specifications and statutory requirements during in process and before being dispatched.
    • Conducts Blaine, sulphates (SO3), and residues in cement.
    • Ensures that fuse beads and pellets for end product are properly prepared and used in XRF analyses
    • Conducts chemical analyses of received gypsum, coal, red alluvium and end product using XRF.
    • Conducts physical analyses of end product using EN 196 Methods
    • Conducts coal ash and calorific value analyses of received coal using Bomb Calorimeter/ furnace
    • Interprets all the test results produced and take corrective action for deviations in conjunction through usage of Statistical Process Control Incident plotting and reporting.
    • Makes sure that the standards for the standardization are available.
    • Adheres to, sample preparation, analysis/testing, sample retention work instructions, at all times.
    • Informs/consults his superior of any technical difficulties and faults beyond scope immediately.
    • Ensure that the laboratory records are kept up-to-date and allow product tractability.
    • Ensure that the laboratory and other measuring equipment is maintained, serviced, calibrated and in good working condition.
    • Manage the Chemical Lab reagents, glassware, equipment/accessories and other equipment spares stocks.
    • Manage testing programmes daily.

    Who you'll work with:

    • CCRO

    • Geologists.

    What we are looking for
    Qualification, Education and Skills:

    • BSc / HND in Chemistry, Laboratory Technology, Physics, Chemical engineering or a subject related to mining.
    • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in a process industry or quarry operation.

    • In-depth knowledge of quality control methods and instruments
    • Good knowledge of process control statistical methods and of experimental design
    • Good knowledge of control tools and instruments (operation logics, regulation methods and systems)
    • Good knowledge of current regulations and of specific environmental constraints
    • Good knowledge of project management methods
    • Good knowledge of safety laws and regulations
    • Computer literate (Word, excel, MS project, lotus note)
    • Good knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9002)

    Assistant HR Business Partner

    • Working with the HR Business Partner, the role provides support in the delivery of the HR agenda to the business.
    • This includes preparing analysis and materials for HR processes e.g. FRC, annual salary review, supporting line managers and acting as assigned Business Partner to certain groups

    What you'll be doing

    • Support the implementation of the annual agenda for HR Strategy in line with the functional plan.
    • Support the Plant HRBP in the recruitment of non-cadre staff.

    • Support the development and continuous improvement of HR systems and policies in line with best practices.
    • Work with the Head of HR Industrial and Plant HRBP to identify opportunities and areas of improvement to support improved organisational and people performance.
    • Coach and equip supervisors to effectively manage their people in line with people plans e.g. performance management 
    • Support production of HR data reporting and analysis to satisfy routine and ad-hoc organisational requirements 
    • Working with the Head of HR, Industrial/IR, manage employee and industrial relations for the plant and provide support and guidance to the Plant HRBP.
    • Manage the interface with relevant statutory bodies and trade associations in the locality as agreed with the Plant HRBP in conjunction with the Head of HR Industrial/IR. 
    • Support the Plant HRBP in the deployment of policies for effective employee / industrial relations management across the plant.
    • Support the Plant HRBP on employee and industrial relations issues to ensure a peaceful industrial atmosphere.
    • Liaising with the Head of HR Industrial/IR, support Plant HRBP in resolving industrial relations crisis in the plant.
    • Provide necessary support for the Plant HRBP during salary negotiations.
    • Under the direction of the Plant, HRBP manages projects as required.
    • Monitor the social climate in the plant and provide regular feedback to the Plant HRBP and Head of HR Industrial/IR.
    • Collaborate with and support other roles within the O & HR function as required.

    • Graduate in any discipline, preferably the Social Sciences
