    Data Cataloguer – Niger Mills

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To support the achievement of BU goal by developing and manage Standard Catalogue for the stores.

    THE JOB

    • Create clear, concise, and complete purchasing descriptions to uniquely describe each engineering consumable.
    • Generate standardized templates used in guiding new data entry.
    • The interface between stores and end users (engineers) for alternative spare parts selection.
    • Forecast spares are required for preventive maintenance.
    • Assist in generating a new descriptive template to guide the registration of new materials into the PILOG software.
    •  Assist in providing all necessary information on both old and new items for concise description into the PILOG software for further approval.
    • Submit all newly registered and pending description change materials to the cataloguer for approval.
    • Ensure the safety of self and others in the line of work.

    THE PERSON MUST

    • Have an excellent verbal and written communication skill.
    • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Be team oriented, adaptable and dependable.
    • Be able to work in fast-paced environment.
    • Pay high attention to details.

    QUALIFICATION

    • 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings/NABTEB/ Trade Test.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3 years cognate experience.

    Procurement Officer – Niger Mills

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To support the achievement of BU goal through Standard and excellent procurement practices to support the lean department

    THE JOB

    • Assistance with the registration and updating of status of Purchase Requisitions (PRs) from all functional Departments.
    • Assist in maintaining current up to date Procurement documents after completions of PRs.
    • Researching pricing and obtaining quotes locally on low and high value items of the PRs; 
    • Assist with managing the administrative process throughout the duration of the preparation of all documentation until the award and completion of PRs;
    • Preparation of statistical reports on allocation of PR cost to the respective PR originating departments.
    • Coordinate with requestors and make sure the right materials needed were as stated in the PRs.
    • Receiving and checking of delivered materials along with requestors and stores. Ensure the materials meet the required specifications.

    THE PERSON MUST

    • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Have an excellent verbal and written communication skill.
    • Possess project management and data analytical skills.
    • Be team oriented, adaptable and dependable.
    • Be able to work in fast-paced environment.

    Fire/HSE Assistant

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To ensure the safety and protection of personnel, assets, and the environment by carrying out fire prevention measures, emergency response, and routine safety inspections.

    THE JOB

    • Perform fire prevention duties and respond to firefighting operations swiftly and effectively to minimize risks.
    • Operate and maintain fire pumps and other firefighting equipment to ensure operational readiness.
    • Conduct routine HSE inspections to identify potential hazards and assess the condition of all fire safety infrastructure, including extinguishers, fire hydrants, alarms, and emergency exits, and report any deficiencies for prompt resolution.
    • Monitor the condition of HSE equipment and support preventive maintenance efforts.
    • Organize and conduct fire drills to ensure all personnel are aware of emergency procedures and document the results and areas for improvement.
    • Deliver basic internal fire safety training sessions to educate staff on fire prevention, firefighting techniques, and emergency response protocols.
    • Support the issuance of work permits by assessing site-specific risks and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

    THE PERSON MUST

    • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Be physically fit and able to perform firefighting duties.
    • Be able to pay attention to details and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Have strong knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting techniques.
    • Have Excellent risk assessment and hazard identification skills.

    QUALIFICATION

    • 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings/NABTEB/ Trade Test.
    • Fire safety training, state fire service, HSE 1,2,3 will be an added advantage.

    EXPERIENCE

    • At least 2 years cognate experience.

    Storekeeper – Niger Mills

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB

    To support the achievement of BU goal through excellent storekeeping by providing accurate inventory records to aid operations continuity.

    THE JOB

    • Issue, receive and document all requisition vouchers
    • Posting of packing slip (GRV)
    • Documentation of invoices to account for payment
    • Raising of order for stock replenishment
    • Perform all other related duties as assigned
    • Receive materials into Store after checking with delivery notes alongside the corresponding Purchase Order (PO).
    • Binning of the items and bin cards, updating accordingly as well as system records update.
    • Maintain proper record of receipts, issue and balance of all items.
    • Issue from the stores, in line with proper authorization, in right quantity and right specification at all time.
    • Ensure adequate record keeping and manage all documentation to confirm proper stock levels and maintain inventory control.

    THE PERSON MUST

    • Have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Have an excellent verbal and written communication skill.
    • Possess project management and data analytical skills.
    • Be team oriented, adaptable and dependable.
