    Optical Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Optical Manager is responsible for the operation of the store, keeping the store profitable and well-organized to ensure a pleasing experience for our customers.
    • In addition, the Optical Manager delivers excellence in sales performance.

    Responsibilities
    Your duties shall include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Supervise and coordinate all customer-related activities.
    • Drive the delivery of quality care to patients.
    • Generates sales report.
    • You are required to visit other branches as the need arises.
    • Entering the optical daily sales of all branches in QuickBooks.
    • Preparation of monthly sales report with the line manager at the end of the month.
    • Reconciliation of invoices from various optical labs with the order placed and receipts at the end of the month.
    • Assisting the optometrist in attending to patients.
    • Assisting patients in choosing frames and lens options.
    • Stock reconciliation at the end of the month.
    • Follow up on glasses ordered from the laboratory.
    • Ordering and collection of contact lenses when needed.
    • Preparation of HMO report at the end of the month for the accounting and audit department.
    • General administrative work in the optical department.
    • Receiving and assisting patients in accessing the appropriate optical services.
    • Providing effective clerical services and also attending to phone calls.
    • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor and Management.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's Degree in any relevant field especially in Humanities and Social Sciences
    • A minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant field.
    • A prior customer service experience is an added advantage.
    • Must be computer savvy.

    Customer Experience Officer

    Job Summary

    • A Customer Experience Officer performs informational and service-related duties on behalf of the hospital
    • The Customer Experience Officer's responsibilities include answering phone calls, resolving patient queries regarding medical care, and directing patients to the proper resources for further assistance with their issues.

    Responsibilities

    • Providing help and advice to customers using the organization’s products or services.
    • Communicating promptly, and courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter, and face to face.

    Nurse

    Job Summary

    • A Nursing Officer is responsible for treating patients who are sick and injured, counseling, offering advice and emotional support to patients and their families, taking care of paperwork, and providing advice and follow-up care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Check vital signs
    • Care of patient using the checklist
    • Get patients ready for surgery
    • Ensure biometry is done for a patient
    • Adequate takeover of the ward by ensuring room-to-room handover.
    • Ensure post-op vital signs
    • Ensure prescription sheet, lenses, and appointment sheet are in the consulting room
    • Medications and injections for both in and outpatients
    • Instillation of eye drops
    • Ensure instructions are carried out e.g. dilation, navigation to procedure or pharmacy or counselling dept.
    • Enter details on the hospital EMR (Indigo)
    • Counsel patients and record appropriately.

    Qualifications

    • Must be a Registered Nurse
    • A Post-Basic qualification in Ophthalmic Nursing is an added advantage.
    • At least 2 years of work experience in the same role

    Cashier

    Job Summary

    • The Cashier will be responsible for receiving payment by cash, cheque, direct transfers or vouchers.
    • He/ She will also be responsible for issuing receipts, and giving change when necessary to customers.
    • He/ She will also be responsible for posting payment received into necessary entry books and balancing the books at the end of each business day.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for receiving and confirming bills for patients on the system; if bill amount is correct before collection of payment.
    • In case of cash payment, you must ensure that the appropriate amount is paid by verifying the cash paid by the patient.
    • In case of cheque payment, the Consultant in charge of the patient must sign the bill approving the cheque collection.
    • In the case of direct lodgment, transfer, and POS, transactions must be confirmed approved before proceeding to issuing a receipt.
    • Receipt(s) will only be issued after payment is made.
    • Posting of transactions into the QuickBooks appropriately.
    • Balance transactions at the end of the day with the Accountant/ Auditor.
    • Report signed by both parties on the cash to be lodged.
    • Responsible for summarizing corporate bills daily, weekly, and monthly.
    • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
    • Preparation of weekly and monthly reports
    • Posting of journals.
    • Preparation and Updating of ledgers.
    • Preparation of assigned reports.
    • Any other duties as assigned by your supervisor, manager & the Medical Director from time to time.

    Requirements

    • Education: Minimum of an OND preferably in Accounting
    • 2 years experience in a Cashiering role.
    • Must be familiar with the use of Accounting Software.

    Optometrist

    Job Summary

    • The Optometrists will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, treating, and managing disorders of the visual system, eye diseases, and injuries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform vision tests and analyze results.
    • Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and wear contact lenses
    • Examine patients’ eyes courteously using observation, instruments, equipment and pharmaceutical agents.
    • In charge of the day to day running of the optical department, keeping and providing record of activities.
    • Administering, organizing and planning the development of the practice.
    • Communicating with patients to get detailed case histories
    • Examining the eyes of patients of all ages to detect signs of injury, disease, abnormality or vision defects.
    • Being aware of signs and symptoms of general health conditions (e.g. hypertension, asthma, ulcer, diabetes e.t.c).
    • Refer patients to ophthalmologists if eye problems are beyond scope of practice.
    • Offering advice to patients and reassuring them about vision-related matters.
    • Offering help and advice for patients choosing frames and lenses.
    • Liaising with other medical practitioners and sometimes sharing the care of patients with chronic ophthalmic conditions.
    • Meeting sales targets with regard to selling spectacles or contact lenses.
    • Undertaking continuing education and training (CET).
    • Managing staff, including dispensing opticians and clerical staff, and training junior staff.
    • Managing the retail aspects of spectacles, contact lenses and other vision care products.
    • Participate in outreaches.
    • Ensure that all consumables needed are available and on time.
    • Work with other team members to coordinate the camp/hospital.

    Qualifications

    • Doctor of Optometry from a reputable institution
    • Must have a valid practicing license
    • Minimum of 2 years experience in optometry is required.

    Computer Savvy Skills:

    • Proficient use of Microsoft office {Word, Excel, and Power point}.
