    Construction Manager

    Job Summary

    • We are currently seeking an experienced and result-driven Construction Manager to join our client’s project execution team in Port Harcourt. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven background in onshore EPCIC projects, especially within the oil and gas sector.
    • As Construction Manager, you will oversee all construction activities, ensuring that manpower, materials, equipment, and processes are properly coordinated to meet project timelines, budget targets, and safety standards. You will work closely with project stakeholders, subcontractors, community relations teams, and client representatives to ensure smooth execution from mobilization through demobilization.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead overall construction operations and execution strategies for pipeline and infrastructure projects.
    • Supervise construction teams, subcontractors, and field operations to meet project specifications.
    • Ensure compliance with all HSE and QA/QC standards and attend HAZID and constructability reviews.
    • Allocate equipment and manpower efficiently to optimize productivity and reduce downtime.
    • Represent the company on-site and serve as liaison between internal teams, clients, and government representatives.
    • Provide regular reports on progress, challenges, and safety concerns to the Project Manager.

    Requirements

    • B.Eng. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
    • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in major oil and gas construction projects, with at least 8 years in a senior construction management role.
    • Hands-on experience leading EPCIC onshore pipeline projects.
    • Strong knowledge of project safety, quality, and environmental standards.

    Welding Engineer

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide Code and Standard interpretation
    • Contribute to the management to support business growth.
    • Mentor welder and welding Operators on the best and appropriate ways on achieving quality and acceptable welds
    • Provide advice to management on welders and welding operators performance and repair rate
    • Support engineering team in design analysis and material selection 
    • Coach and mentor quality team to ensure professionalism and proficiency. Core/Technical 
    • Oversee the qualification and approval of Welding Procedure Specification. 
    • Update Welding Procedure Specification and Procedure Qualification Record Register.
    • Oversee the qualification of Welder and Welding Operator’s Performance Qualification. 
    • Update Welders and Welding Operators Register.
    • Evaluate Welders Repair Rate and Performance.
    • Review and approval of vendor and sub-contractors welding documents.
    • Carryout Root Cause Analysis and Weld Failure Analysis in order to initiate and implement corrective and preventive actions. 
    • Evaluating existing and modern welding processes, procedures, equipment and techniques for optimization purposes. 
    • Analyze engineering design for welding requirements. 
    • Advises project and Construction teams on all welding and welding consumable issues.
    • Carryout and Participate in welding and welding related audits. 

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in any Engineering field.
    • ertification in any of the following or it’s equivalent: 
    •  International Welding Engineering Certificate (IWE)
    •  European Welding Engineering Certificate (EWE) 
    •  American Welding Engineering Certificate (AWE)

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years in Welding Engineering, with at least 5 years in the oil and  Gas/ Construction Establishment.
    • Proficiency in the major 5 welding processes.
    • Proficiency in material selection and metallurgy 
    • Proficiency in the use and interpretation of major IOC specification and international codes and standards. 
    • Proficiency in Engineering drawing interpretation, weld mapping and extraction of welding details.

    • Effective Communication and Interpersonal interaction 
    • Blueprint interpretation 
    • Material selection 
    • Equipment Calibration

    Project Manager

    • As the Project Manager, you will lead planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and project control efforts. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, third-party contractors, and support staff to ensure that the project is executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    • The Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of a pipeline project.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
    • Establish clear project goals, milestones, and deliverables aligned with client and company objectives.
    • Lead preparation of execution plans, project budgets, and resource plans.
    • Manage progress reporting, cost tracking, and risk control.
    • Ensure timely submission of work completion certificates and invoices.
    • Lead subcontractor coordination, community engagement, and quality oversight.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in oil and gas project management.
    • PMP Certification is mandatory.
    • Experience with MS Project, Primavera, and other scheduling software.
    • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
