Civil Engineer (Construction) at Nicole Sinclair Consulting

The Civil Engineer will support the Project Manager in achieving project objectives through effective construction planning, site supervision, subcontractor management, and efficient utilization of people, materials, and equipment. The role is responsible for construction planning, site execution, subcontractor management, resource utilization, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications. The engineer will lead site teams and coordinate all construction activities to ensure successful project delivery within approved timelines and budgets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Project Manager in achieving project objectives.
• Plan and supervise building construction activities.
• Prepare construction schedules and monitor project progress.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Supervise site works and ensure compliance with approved designs.
• Inspect reinforcement, formwork, and concrete works before casting.
• Manage subcontractors and coordinate their activities.
• Plan and control manpower, materials, and equipment requirements.
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources on site.
• Monitor quality standards and construction workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and government standards.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
• Maintain project records, site documentation, and MIS reports.
• Identify and report project risks, delays, and deviations.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate site teams to meet project targets.
• Excellent color acuity and good vision

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10–12 years' experience in building construction projects.
• Excellent technical knowledge of site construction.
• Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in site layout, grading, utility design, and regulatory approvals.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, structural works, and site supervision.
• Experience managing subcontractors and construction teams.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering software.
• Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
• Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
