    Project Finance Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Project Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of project transactions as well as periodic reporting of financial activities on project.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Project Finance Officer has the following responsibilities:

    Payment processing

    • Review payment requests to ensure that all the relevant supporting documents including invoice, receipt, approved budget and procurement documents where applicable are attached.
    • Further approved proposal, tender documents, purchase orders, contracts, GRNs, distribution lists and invoices are attached to PV
    • Coordinate with relevant staff on unclear support documents provided for payment before processing it further
    • Ensure all payments are processed in a timely manner without unnecessary delays
    • Ensure payment vouchers are properly coded and approved before effecting payment
    • Post transactions on Quick Books or on available ERP software for periodic reporting

    Staff Advances

    • Perform reconciliations on staff and working advances
    • Provide staff with account status on monthly basis. Ensure that additional advances are not given to staff if the previous one is unaccounted unless with prior authority

    General Ledger Update

    • Keep accurate records for all daily transactions to be captured in the accounting books
    • Update the general ledger and participate in monthly closing procedures
    • Ensure all transactions processed through the accounting system are properly authorized and have the relevant supporting documents
    • Maintain a transparent, accurate user-friendly filing system of all financial documents by ensuring all documents are in place and files are properly labelled 
    • Follow up with branches and staff for retirement of advances at the close of every month

    Budget Tracking and Performance Reporting

    • Using excel skills to match actual expenses with budgeted line items upon the availability and request of transaction list from finance.
    • Generation of monthly budget report and variance analysis for donor’s information.
    • Reporting of staff advance on a periodic basis for reconciliation purpose.
    • Record budget realignment where it is required and re-adjust the matching expenses on cash basis.

    Financial Control

    • Ensure appropriate control and security of all cash resources always
    • Conduct ageing analysis and compile reports of outstanding payments over 30 days and follow up to ensure payment
    • Closely monitor all financial activities and keep the management advised of all situations which have the potential for a negative impact on internal controls or financial performance
    • Assist in the facilitation of both internal and external audit procedures as may be required

    Safeguarding Officer

    JOB PURPOSE

    The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) Safeguarding Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals, including children, adults, and communities, in Red Cross programs and activities. The officer will work closely with the Protection Department to implement safeguarding measures, conduct risk assessments, and provide support to vulnerable individuals as directed by the Director Protection and Gender Inclusion + Education PGIE. This position is supported by the British Red Cross.


     JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Safeguarding officer has the following responsibilities:

    • Implementing safeguarding policies and procedures in line with Red Cross\'s mandate and international best practices.
    • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to prevent harm to vulnerable individuals.
    • Provide training and capacity-building support to staff and volunteers on safeguarding policies and procedures.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant authorities, organizations, and communities to promote safeguarding.
    • Monitor and report on safeguarding activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
    • Support branches in mainstreaming PGI and safeguarding into programs and projects, providing technical guidance and capacity-building support.
    • Establish and ensure staff and volunteers sign a Code of Conduct that clearly prohibits SEA, obliges reporting of such acts, and enforces these clauses when breached.
    • Develop and monitor a Work Plan to mainstream PSEA throughout NRCS programming, informed by community engagement and SEA trends in accordance with global and/or regional PSEA standard.
    • Support refresher training of staff both at NHQ and Branches on PSEA and NRCS Code of Conduct and mechanisms for reporting SEA.
    • Limit sharing of sensitive complaint information to a “need to know” basis, in line with the NRCS data protection policy and a survivor-centered approach.
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management that align with the role and responsibilities of the Safeguarding Officer.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    Educational Qualification

    • Degree in Law, Psychology, Sociology, Post - graduate degree in Social Works or related Social Sciences.

    Added advantage includes;

    • Prior knowledge on either PGI, PSEA or SGBV 
    • Completion of online PGI, Safeguarding and PSEA training via the IFRC e-learning platform.

    Professional experience required

    • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the development/humanitarian sector on issues related to protection or safeguarding.
    • Identify and engage with local networks on safeguarding and Protection Gender and Inclusion PGI issues.
    • Engage with relevant organizations for referrals, knowledge-sharing, joint awareness raising, training, and contacting local communities.
    • Support the Branch Protection Gender Inclusion PGI focal points in delivering their day-to-day programs.
    • Deliver safeguarding training, Protection Gender Inclusion PGI to Branch focal points, and support with step-down training to volunteers; 
    • Support a collaborative approach to protection and safeguarding with other program departments and units e.g. HR, NSD, CEA, Program staff and the legal staff.
    • Establish referral procedures for Child Protection, Sexual and Gender Based Violence SGBV, counseling, and MHPSS at a minimum.
    • Strong knowledge of the local context and norms related to sex and gender.
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of NRCS institutional approach on PSEA and related strategies, policies, rules and regulations.
    • Compatibility of the Branch PGI/PSEA/SGBV Focal Point function with his/her assigned position and workload.
    • Demonstrated experience working directly with local communities.
    • Familiarity with data protection and confidentiality measures and protocols.

    Data Administrator

     JOB PURPOSE

    Provide technical and data management support to the Restoring Family Links (RFL) services domiciled in the protection department. The Data Administrator (DA) reports to the Assistant Coordinator RFL, based in the Nigerian Red Cross (NRCS) national headquarters in Abuja.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Data Management and FLA

    • Download cases shared by other National Societies (NSs) and ensures action is taken accordingly.
    • Actively lead and participate to the implementation of the case management system named FLANSWERS.
    • Coordinates and performs data entry into the FLANSWERS solution for Nigeria following the regulations for the new cases and ensure the retroactive data entry of the old cases.
    • Checks the relevance and quality of the data collected and input. Provide support to the RFL team / RFL Focal points and RFL Volunteers for corrections where necessary.
    • Ensures the individual filing of cases according to set criteria and instructions from the Assistant Coordinator.
    • Ensures close follow-up of individual files and reminds/advises the team on when an action/follow-up is required.
    • Digitalizes and labels all case-related documents received by the Nigerian red cross.
    • Guarantees the protection and security of individuals’ personal data.
    • Asks for the necessary additional information in order to increase the chances of successful tracing.
    • Sends out institutional documents, provides statistics, analysis and prepares internal reports on need’s basis.
    • Sets data-entry procedures, data control procedures and participates in reviews of working procedures, including forms.
    • Trains and provides support to other colleagues of the RFL Service on FLA, data entry procedures and management of data.
    • Supports the Assistant RFL Coordinator for reporting and general administrative tasks, as required in relation to data management. 
    • Ensures that the cases are received and sent using secure file exchange ASPERA.
    • Performs regular data controls in FLA to ensure data quality and integrity.
    • Using interoperability function, exports and imports cases to/from Prot6 and FLA databases of ICRC delegations and other NSs as per the needs.

    Support the RFL Program

    • Processes and verifies compliance of the requests addressed to the Nigerian Red Cross in light of the RFL guidelines and tracing procedures of the institution i.e. 
    • Participate in key RFL activities as the case maybe.
    • Can support sending acknowledgement receipts to other National Societies or enquires who have addressed to the Nigerian Red Cross requests / cases to trace a sought person in Nigeria. 
    • Stands ready to accompany the team in the field and participate to operations, under the supervision of the Assistant RFL Coordinator, and as needs require. Can support in receiving RFL beneficiaries / people in need of RFL services at the national headquarters and ensure that cases are treated on time.

    Other responsibilities:

    • Ensures monthly and quarterly statistical reporting.
    • Ensures that all information related to personal data is treated as per RFL Code of Conduct, the NRCS Code of Conduct and Nigeria Data protection regulations.
    • Engages directly with the ICRC Data Manager for coordination and to receive technical advice.

    QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in information management, Social Sciences or a related field.

    Experience

    • Two to three years’ professional experience, including at least two years using and managing computer data.
    • Fully conversant with and keen interest in working in Windows environment (Excel, Words, …) and Web tools.
    • Experience with use of case management systems.
    • Work or volunteering experience within the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is an asset.
    • Work or volunteering experience in the RFL and migration field is an asset.

    Fundraising Officer (Individual Giving)

    JOB PURPOSE

    The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated, organized, and data-driven fundraising professional. Reporting to the General Manager of Fundraising, the Individual Giving Fundraiser will play a key role in the planning and delivery of The Nigerian Red Cross Society’s Individual Regular Giving program. The Individual Giving Fundraiser will manage and deliver high-quality supporter acquisition, conversion, reactivation, and retention campaigns. The individual must be a dynamic strategic thinker with a proven track-record of building and managing successful on-line campaigns with sound knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

     JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Support the GM Fundraising with the development and delivery of NRCS Regular Giving Program which will deliver vital unrestricted income.
    • Project management of high-quality supporter acquisition, reactivation, upgrade, and retention campaigns which are designed to engage new supporters and develop relationships with existing supporters.
    • Prepare campaign schedules and budgets and have overall responsibility for ensuring campaigns in the Regular Giving Program are executed on time and on budget.
    • To develop and deliver design and messaging for campaigns within the Regular Giving Program. Identify cause-related messaging that demonstrates impact and motivates people to support the NRCS.
    • Work closely with teams across the NRCS to identify priority funding needs and generate content to feature as part of the Regular Giving program.
    • CRM and Data Management. Assist with the management of the donor database and be proficient in using fundraising CRM systems (RE/NXT would be an advantage) – including data inputting, data selection, and utilization of analytical tools.
    • Assist with the data strategy and take end-to-end responsibility of data selection, data segmentation, and data export for campaigns in the Regular Giving program.
    • Engage in detailed campaign monitoring reporting and analysis of campaign results through the development of end-of-campaign reviews with recommendations to maximize future campaign income.
    • Ensure the CRM database is up to date, and records are accurate.
    • Follow best practices and comply with relevant legislation and fundraising regulations.
    • Participate in the day-to-day work of the organization – such as reporting, attending team meetings and events as required, and taking a flexible approach to general administrative and support tasks.
    • Contribute to the wider fundraising team, taking a proactive approach to working in a high performing and collaborative environment.

    QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in digital marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, communications, or a related field.
    • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role (ideally within the charitable sector). Experience of developing compelling fundraising messaging, product and donor journeys using direct marketing and campaigning techniques.
    • Proven experience in individual fund-raising, donor relations, or related fields.
    • Experience of managing supporter data through a CRM system (RE/NXT would be an advantage).
    • Experience of managing campaigns featuring data analytics, segmentation, and reporting.

    Senior Fund-Raising Officer (Corporate)

    JOB PURPOSE

    The role will proactively engage with the local business communities and business leaders across Nigeria to maximize income generation by offering sector-leading stewardship and ideation for new and existing supporters.
