    Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician L2 (Offshore)

    Job Description

    • The E&I shift technician is responsible for the trouble shooting and planned maintenance of the electrical, instrumentation and automation equipment and systems in the ISBL installations during the shift working hours, in order to ensure safe and reliable operations.
    • Solves electrical and electronic faults and performs preventive maintenance on the installations:
      • Looks at the occurrence of the malfunction
      • Travels on site and solves limited electrical and electronic faults (e.g. new motor fuses, repair position and pressure measurements, repair pump motor control), works for more complex tasks together with or under the supervision of the day E&I technicians
      • Puts the devices voltage-free, back on voltage, checks the measurements and the circuits on the installations (bridges if necessary)
      • Performs preventive automation maintenance on appliances, installations
      • Carries out the regularly recurring tests on safety circuits through strictly defined procedures and steps
    • Contributes to implementation of changes to installations and processes (MOC):
    • Installs new components or removes components that are no longer used, as part of the MOC process
    • Pull cable, run conduit, and terminate electrical wiring per drawings.
    • Repair/Replace AC/DC motors (480/4160 VAC) starters, (480/4160VAC) buckets, (480/4160 and up) switchgear, drives, relays, switches, instruments, breaker panels, etc., from low voltage to medium voltage. Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC electrical equipment, including all pneumatic, electric, heat tracing and fluid powered items on site.
    • Read electrical drawings and use them to troubleshoot, install/replace electrical systems.
    • Troubleshooting/replacement/calibration of Instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, position switches), process analyzers, LEL&Toxic gas detectors,...
    • Repair actuated, quarter-turn valves with position indication.
    • Troubleshoot Delta V and Siemens S7-1500 PLCs
    • Repair Motor drives.
    • Repair analysers, etc.
    • Rebuild calibrate and troubleshoot control valves.
    • Troubleshoot/replace and calibrate flow meters, level, pressure and temperature meters.
    • Troubleshoot and repair actuated, quarter-turn valves with position indication.
    • Troubleshoot and be able to read PLC programs.
    • Troubleshoot, size, and replace electrical protection systems.
    • Troubleshoot/replace lighting, floodlights and similar lighting equipment fixtures.
    • Perform other duties as assigned which may not be specifically listed in the position description, but which are within general occupational duties and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s skills.
    • Maintain good housekeeping in the field and E&I maintenance shop and warehouse

    Requirements
    Qualification:

    • Interested candidates should possess a B.Eng Degree with 6-10 years experience.

    Technical skills:

    • Must pass a Company developed written and hands on test to enter the Department.
    • Must pass qualification testing and “walk-throughs” within a reasonable period.
    • Ability to multitask.
    • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment with diverse groups.
    • Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to thoroughly understand and follow complex work procedures.
    • Good analytical skills.
    • Demonstrated computer skills.
    • Strong math skills.
    • Proficient in the use of various electrical test equipment including Fluke 754, 475 Hart Unit, TREX, HART Modem, Modbus Modem, DC Bridge, HV electroscope etc.
    • Ability to troubleshoot chemical processes and equipment using a Distributed Control System (DCS) and
    • troubleshoot using Aspen IP.21 Process Browser data.
    • Ability to trouble shoot the E&I equipment and devices in chemical plant. Such as but not limited to DCS, SIS, PLC, instrument, valves, detectors , analysers , CEMS, LV&MV MCC, VFD, EHT, UPS, diesel generator, electrical motors, motorized actuators, FAS, CCTV, radio system, public address ,access control etc.
    • Experiences for DCS/PLC programming is a plus
    • Solid knowledge for E&I inspection and calibration
    • Experiences with Emerson DCS, HIMA/Triconnex SIS , Aspen PIMS will be a plus

    Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor (Offshore)

    About the Role

    • An Offshore Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Supervisor is responsible for all E&I activities on an offshore facility. This includes ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with international standards and project specifications.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Lead and coordinate a team of E&I technicians and contractors on the offshore facility.
    • Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance to team members.
    • Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams (Operations, Mechanical, Piping, etc.) to ensure integrated project delivery.
    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, termination, glanding, and testing of all E&I equipment.
    • Supervise work on LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, control panels, fire and gas systems, and communication networks.
    • Interpret and apply engineering documents, including P&IDs, single-line diagrams, loop diagrams, and technical specifications.
    • Lead troubleshooting and fault-finding efforts on complex electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
    • Enforce strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
    • Implement and manage safety protocols such as the Permit to Work (PTW) system,Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and risk assessments (HAZID/HAZOP).
    • Ensure all E&I installations comply with international standards and codes (e.g., IEC, NEC, API, ATEX/IECEx for hazardous areas).
    • Develop work schedules and monitor project progress against milestones.
    • Coordinate material requirements, manage inventory, and ensure the availability of necessary tools and equipment.
    • Manage project documentation, including preparing "as-built" drawings, generating progress reports, and compiling commissioning dossiers.
    • Conduct field inspections, manage punch lists, and oversee the final handover of systems to operations.
    • Implement Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for all E&I work.
    • Oversee and verify pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, including loop checks, continuity tests, and insulation resistance tests.

    Qualifications

    • Interested candidates should possess a B.Eng Degree with 8-15 years experience.

    E&I Technician

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Read and interpret Piping & Instrument Diagrams, loop drawings, wiring schematics, and specifications
    • Install, test, troubleshoot and maintain various systems such as ESD, VFD, PLC and others
    • Install and calibrate end devices such as pressure transducers, speed controllers, RTU’s, loop controllers and valve positioners.
    • Performs retrofit and modification to existing electrical systems.
    • Working with ethernet networks, installation, and testing as needed.
    • Troubleshoot and repair PLC or HMI electrical panels is a plus
    • Switchboard maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
    • Troubleshoot and repair Low Voltage (12v to 48v) systems
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and/or install medium voltage (120-480 VAC) systems (generators, panels
    • CompEX certification is a plus
    • IR survey experience is a plus
    • Primary breaker injection testing a plus.

    Required Qualifications

    • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
    • 3+ years’ experience as an E&I Technician in an offshore environment
    • Must have knowledge and understanding of NFPA (NEC), API, and UL508A.
