    Managing Director

    • The MD will be accountable for delivering revenue growth through advertising, partnerships, and subscription models, ensuring operational excellence and innovative content delivery. In addition, the MD will ensure that company via its News Channel is adopted as Media Partner to major financial and multilateral financial institutions and DFIs across Africa within the first year.


    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership

    • Develop and implement strategies to position the company as a leading news and entertainment platform across cable, satellite, and internet TV.
    • Identify growth opportunities in the broadcast and digital media markets, including partnerships, sponsorships, and new content formats.

    Cable News and Broadcasting Operations

    • Oversee the successful operation and expansion of the company's 24-hour flagship news station.
    • Lead the development of engaging and relevant programming to attract a broad and diverse audience.
    • Ensure high-quality production standards across all broadcasting platforms.

    Revenue Growth

    • Drive revenue from advertising on the cable news station, satellite, and internet TV platforms, achieving targeted annual increases.
    • Secure partnerships with advertisers, sponsors, and key stakeholders to enhance revenue streams.
    • Optimize the monetization of digital and broadcast audiences through innovative ad formats, sponsored content, and subscription offerings.

    Audience Growth and Engagement

    • Increase viewership of the flagship 24-hour news station on cable and internet TV by implementing data-driven strategies to improve content reach and engagement.
    • Develop targeted campaigns to grow audience share on satellite and digital platforms.
    • Regularly monitor audience feedback and analytics to refine programming and delivery strategies.

    Team and Talent Development

    • Build and nurture a team of industry-leading professionals in journalism, production, and technology.
    • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation across all departments.

    Stakeholder and Industry Relations

    • Represent the company at media industry events and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, broadcasters, and regulatory bodies.
    • Build partnerships with satellite TV providers, internet TV platforms, and other distribution channels to expand the station’s reach.

    Financial Oversight

    • Manage the company’s budget, focusing on cost-effectiveness while driving profitability in advertising and audience-driven revenue.
    • Provide transparent financial reporting to the board of directors.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements for broadcasting and digital media.
    • Safeguard the company’s intellectual property and broadcasting rights.
       

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    Revenue Growth

    • Achieve a year-on-year growth rate of 25% in advertising revenue for the 24-hour cable news station.
    • Secure a minimum of 40 (forty) new advertising contracts or sponsorship deals per quarter.
    • Maintain a cost-to-profit ratio below 35% (Reduce the ratio by 5% annually subsequently).
    • Develop cost-optimization strategies to control operational expenses.
    • Collaborate with the CFO and functional teams to maximize revenue growth.

    Audience Engagement

    •  Increase the average viewership of the flagship news station on cable and internet TV by 15% within 12 months.
    •  Achieve an audience retention rate of 99% during prime-time programming.

     Operational Excellence

    • Maintain an uptime rate of 99% for satellite and internet TV broadcasts.
    • Ensure 95% of programs are delivered on schedule and within budget.

     Content Reach and Innovation

    • Launch 10 new and unique programs or segments tailored to key audience demographics within the first year.
    • Ensure at least 80% of programs achieve viewership ratings above the industry benchmark.

    Digital Integration

    • Increase internet TV subscribers by 25% annually.
    • Grow digital platform traffic for the flagship station’s content by 30% per quarter.

    Stakeholder Relations

    • Secure partnerships with at least 4 new satellite and internet TV providers annually.
    • Establish advertising relationships with a minimum of 10 (ten) multinational brands within the first 12 months.

    Key Requirements:

    • Minimum 10–15 years senior management experience in broadcast, digital media, or news network leadership.
    • Must possess an MBA
    • Proven track record in scaling multi-platform media brands (cable, satellite, internet TV).
    • Strong ability to build market-leading content and audience strategies.

    Key Goal Indicators (KGIs):

    Long-Term Revenue Targets

    • Double advertising revenue by 50% from the cable news station within 3 years.
    • Achieve a contribution of 40% of total revenue from internet TV subscriptions within 2 years.

    Audience Dominance

    • Rank the company's flagship station among the top 3 news stations on cable and satellite TV within 3 years.
    • Achieve an audience share of 40% in the primary broadcasting region by the end of year. 

    Content Excellence

    • Launch a signature program that garners national or regional awards within 2 years.
    • Establish the company as a trusted name in news by maintaining a public trust rating above 85%
    • Ensure All news content are reported from a human angle perspective and content segmentation should be people centric, youth centric and connects, resonates with the audience, devoid of politics.
    • Ensure political news is balanced and unbiased. Business news to be at par with bloomberg form of reportage and quality must have international presentation appeal in ALL facets of content strategy, comparable to news content offered by the likes of CNN, BBC, and AL Jazeera.

    Market Expansion

    • Expand broadcasting reach to at least 4 additional regions via satellite partnerships within 3 years.
    • Build a global audience by securing 25% viewership from outside the primary market within 5 years.

    Sustainability and Innovation

    • Transition to at least 50% of operations using smart technology by year 3.
    • Introduce AI-driven content personalization tools on internet TV platforms within 2 years.
    • Offer news programming in French for francophone Africa viewers within 2 years.

    Lead Admin

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Oversee entire office administrative functions 
    • Manage and maintain physical and electronic filing system for the Company
    • Ensure all routine correspondence are treated accordingly 
    • Develop, manage and maintain standard operating procedure manuals to ensure consistent performance of routine administrative tasks
    • Oversees the purchasing and disbursement of consumables and office stationery to departments and ensure adequate records are kept 
    • Assists with recruitment efforts, new hire orientations, and on-boarding
    • Ensure payment of Company utility bills  
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories;
    • Ensure office is set up and maintained as a clean and efficient working environment
    • Prepare and control administrative budgets
    • Manage the product ordering process from end to end
    • Manage travel and logistics needs ensuring the proper approvals are obtained. 
    • Supervise Administrative Assistant and other support staff

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelors Degree or its equivalent.
    • Minimum 5 years working experience in a Senior administrative role or related area.
    • Good communication skills with guests, vendors, and coworkers.
    • A problem solver with good attention to details.
    • Advanced computer skills: MS office suite/Google workspace.
    • Understanding and hands on competence with digital productivity applications: ERP, CRM and HR tools.
    • Ability to setup, manage and optimize social digital platforms.

    Engineering Manager

    • This individual will drive the company’s technical strategy, ensure operational excellence across transmission and digital platforms, and lead the engineering team in delivering
    • innovative, reliable, and scalable technology solutions to support the company’s content
    • distribution and business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Leadership & Planning

    • Develop and implement the company’s engineering and technology strategy aligned with business goals.
    • Lead long-term planning for broadcast, OTT, and digital media infrastructure.
    • Advise senior management on emerging technologies (AI in media, cloud encoding, streaming technology, digital content protection, etc.).
    • Oversee engineering budget planning, cost optimization, and vendor management.

    Broadcast Engineering & Transmission Operations

    • Manage end-to-end broadcast engineering operations including play-out automation, satellite uplink/downlink, RF systems, and studio engineering.
    • Ensure 24/7 uptime and reliability of on-air broadcast systems (TV channels, radio channels, studios, and transmission sites).
    • Oversee preventive maintenance, system upgrades, redundancy planning, and disaster recovery for broadcast infrastructure.
    • Ensure compliance with national/regional broadcast regulations and technical standards.

    Digital Media, OTT & New Media Technologies

    • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of OTT platforms (live streaming, VOD, content delivery networks, app platforms).
    • Drive innovation across digital content workflows, digital asset management, cloud storage, transcoding/encoding, and content security (DRM, watermarking).
    • Work closely with product, content, and marketing teams to ensure seamless integration across digital platforms (web, mobile apps, smart TV apps).
    • Ensure high platform availability, low latency, and high-quality user experience across digital channels.

    Team Leadership & People Management

    • Lead and mentor engineering teams across broadcast operations, IT systems, digital platform engineering, and technical support.
    • Build a high-performing engineering culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and continuous learning.
    • Champion a collaborative work environment between engineering and other departments (Editorial, Production, Digital, Commercial, etc.).

    IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity

    • Oversee IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage
    • Implement industry best practices for data protection, backup, and IT governance.
    • Ensure full system redundancy and disaster recovery across mission-critical broadcast and digital systems.
    • F. Project Management & Technical Implementation
    • Lead technical projects including studio upgrades, OTT platform deployment, broadcast automation upgrades, and new channel launches.
    • Prepare and review technical RFPs, vendor proposals, and contracts.
    • Ensure timely execution of projects within scope, budget, and quality expectations.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Broadcast Technology, Electronics, or related field.
    • Minimum 15 years’ experience in Media IT, broadcast engineering, or digital media technology with at least 7 years’ experience leading an engineering or IT department in a broadcast media or digital media organization.
    • Strong knowledge of satellite transmission, RF systems, DSNG, teleport operations.
    • Proven expertise in OTT platforms, CDN architecture, video streaming protocols, cloud platforms, and digital content pipelines.
