    Managing Director

    Overview

    • The Managing Director will be responsible for overseeing business operations and providing strategic leadership.
    • The managing director’s responsibilities will include developing and implementing strategic plans and policies, maintaining an open dialogue with stakeholders, and driving organizational success.

    Skills and Capabilities

    • Provide strategic advice to the board and chairperson so that they will have an accurate view of the market and the company’s future

    • Review and account for procurement transactions to ensure adequate supporting documentation, accuracy of amounts, and control over payments

    • Ensure the maintenance of accurate records of financial transactions of the country office (main and field offices) In order to monitor financial status of all project activities

    • Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for key stakeholders of clients (current and potential) and regulators.
    • Maintain a deep knowledge of the capital markets and industry and how changing regulation and macro-economic changes affect the business of the Company.
    • Work with board members and other executives to establish the vision for expanding the existing portfolio of services to include employee share scheme management and innovative data/records management services.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
    • M.Sc / MA in Business Administration will be an advantage 
    • Relevant professional qualifications required (ICAN, ACCA, CFA, etc.)
    • Minimum of 15 - 18 years cognate experience, 7 of which must have been in executive management/leadership
    • Proven experience as Managing Director or in other managerial position
    • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles
    • In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices
    • Knowledge/experience of financial and capital markets
    • Demonstrated experience and proven track record of leading an organisation to successfully deliver new and innovative services to clients

    • Our client is recruiting a Head, Business and Market, who will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability, and help grow the business.
    • The individual is also responsible for overseeing sales operations in the organisation.

    Skills and Capabilities

    • Direct the strategy and planning of the marketing team by ensuring that the appropriate structures, systems, competencies and values are developed in order to meet and exceed the goals of the marketing plan.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of 10 years cognate experience within the financial services sector with at least 5 years in a managerial position

    Head, Audit, Risk and Compliance

    Responsibilities

    • Provide assurance to executive management and board of directors on the effectiveness or otherwise of the company’s risk management, internal control processes, procedures and policies and systems
    • Ensure that a yearly audit plan covering all company’s risk areas is in place, approved by the board and followed up for full execution
    • Oversee and review wide risk management, compliance and internal control systems 
    • Evaluate the level of compliance with set policies and procedures, statutory and sector regulations.
    • Design the strategic focus and goals of the department in alignment with the company’s overall strategy and focus
    • Formulating and implementing the risk management compliance and internal audit framework and policies.
    • Support the finance department in the month and annual preparations, finance reports. 
    • Keep track of new trends in the industry and advise management accordingly. 
    • Oversee the work of external auditors to ensure the audit work remains within the prescribed guidelines.
    • Supervise and support the staff in Internal Audit unit in their roles of implementing all activities of internal audit strategies and tactics to support the overall achievement of the department's and company’s goals.
    • Coordinate and assist with the preparation of audit committee materials and participate in audit committee meetings
    • Investigates and report to the Audit Committee on activities reported through the Hotline/Whistleblower processes and assist in investigations.
    • Initiate policy and process reviews including ensuring they are up to date with all legislations and best practices
    • Use problem solving and critical thinking skills to quickly identify internal control deficiencies, evaluate their risk implications, and draw the appropriate conclusions
    • Lead the setup of the enterprise risk assessment for the organisation and develop a risk log
    • Conduct follow-up reviews of financial, operational, or regulatory compliance deficiencies noted during audits.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of First Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or similar role. 
    • MBA or Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Professional Membership: CIA, ICAN, ACCA, ACA is required.
    • Minimum of Ten (10) years’ experience in Internal Audit in a financial institution or an audit firm
    • Prior managerial experience in similar role or capacity.
    • Excellent knowledge of generally accepted Auditing Standards.
    • Good knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices.
    • Must have previous experience in conducting systems risks and audits in a digitized environment 
    • Policy and regulatory knowledge interpretation and application.
    • Up-to-date technical knowledge including recent developments in accounting standards.
    • In-depth knowledge of Internal control framework for the Finance Industry

    Qualifications

    • Relevant professional qualifications such as ACIB, CFA, PMP, ISO9001, etc.
    • Minimum of 10 years relevant professional experience with at least 5 years in the financial services sector in a similar role.
    • Experience managing high-performance teams
    • Strong organizational skills and delegation, ability to prioritize and multitask, work well under pressure, handle multiple issues simultaneously in a dynamic environment
