Job Summary: 

The company is seeking to hire a Site engineer/Finishing engineer for their business. The site engineer would be responsible for implementing construction drawings as per specs and details. The finishing engineer must have experience in finishing activities for building constructions.

The ideal candidates for these roles must be able to control workers and plan daily activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Site Engineer:

• Manage parts of construction projects.
• Oversee construction work
• Undertake surveys.
• Setting out sites.
• Checking technical designs and drawings for accuracy and to ensure that they are followed correctly.
• Supervising contracted staff.
• Ensuring project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets and/or timescales.
• Liaising with clients, subcontractors, local authority employees, architects and other professionals, especially quantity surveyors and the overall project manager.
• Providing technical advice and solving problems on site.
• Preparing site reports and logging progress.
• Ensuring that health and safety and sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to.

Finishing Engineer:

• Responsible for all finishing activities such as masonry work & plastering, screeding work, waterproofing work, ceiling, painting, tiling, marble works, PU flooring and landscaping.
• Carry out the specified inspection/test in accordance with relevant inspection/test plans.
• Overall supervision and coordination of responsibilities and the allocation of work areas.
• Follow-up to ensure execution of work is carried out in accordance with approved method statements.
• To check the quality of all the materials received on-site, ensure efficient usage of materials to minimize wastage and supervise materials storage areas.
• Coordinates and monitors with contractors for their daily construction activities and their obligations and liaison with subcontractors.
• Coordinate and preparing weekly and daily target schedules for all types of activities.
• Prepare reports.
• Review requirements of the specification and relevant standards and ensure understanding and compliance of work done with the specified requirements of the specification and drawings.

Requirements

• Must have a degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Professional qualification is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Both must have at least 8 years’ experience on field.
• Both must have worked on buildings, whether low rise, mid-rise or high rise.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD is advantageous but not mandatory.

The company is looking to hire a Builder/Project Planner who would be responsible for preparing program of works for projects and also be able to monitor and track and update the timeline.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret and analyze architectural plans and specifications.
• Develop detailed construction schedules using critical path methods (CPM) or similar software.
• Break down project tasks into manageable phases and milestones.
• Identify and manage dependencies between different construction activities.
• Estimate resource requirements including manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Oversee the construction process, ensuring adherence to plans and schedules.
• Supervise construction workers, motivating and ensuring they follow safety protocols.
• Manage subcontractors, coordinating their work and resolving any issues.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identifying and addressing quality control concerns.
• Manage project budget, tracking expenses and identifying potential cost overruns.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and clients.
• Source and procure construction materials, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.
• Manage material inventory and logistics, minimizing wastage and disruptions.
• Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best deals.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
• Conduct regular project meetings to update stakeholders on progress and address concerns.
• Prepare and present project reports with clear data and visuals

Requirements

• Must have a degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Must be a registered Builder.
• Must have worked on construction projects and have an idea of dependency of activities.
• Must also give signs off as a registered builder before pouring concrete.
• Must have experience in Microsoft project or primavera and AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
