    Strategy Manager

    Job Description

    The Strategy Manager will focus on:

    • Business Development: Competitive analysis.
    • Strategic Planning: Annual business planning, business case development, and go-to-market strategies.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Carry out research and analysis independently in support of business units, including company strategies, strategic planning process, and key operational issues.
    • Consistently provide insights on business implications of the research and analysis.
    • Draw up implementation strategies toward achieving the set target
    • Actively engage in research of growing trends in the distribution industry and suggest ways of introducing positive strategy

    • Strategy Definition: The Strategy Manager is tasked with bringing together crucial pieces of information such as competitor performance, operational performance, innovations, markets, etc., from various internal and external sources to develop strategic options.
    • Strategic Planning: The Strategy Manager is responsible for the development of a decentralized activity planning process and ensuring its adoption across the businesses. He manages the development of corporate plans and budgets by playing a lead role in all the planning and budgeting activities performed by the business and establishes and reviews key strategic priorities and translates them into actionable and quantitative plans.
    • Supports the strategic planning process to ensure that this process is timely, focused, and value-adding. He also ensures that the strategic planning process highlights existing business issues, making certain that these issues are thoughtfully addressed by the laid-out plans.
    • Responsible for the management and development of the business’s KPI infrastructure to facilitate analysis and reporting of performance against plans and budgets as well as strategic objectives.
    • Manages the development of weekly/quarterly/annual performance reports for the business’s leaders as well as facilitating cross-functional performance reviews for this leadership.
    • Supports the maintenance of an effective strategy department inclusive of management, coaching, and development of strategic management personnel and identifying and advising on areas for enhancement and focus.
    • Tasked with the development of strategic threat identification and evaluation processes as well as overseeing their adoption across the business. He develops different possible scenarios for the mitigation of possible risks and provides recommendations for the management of these scenarios.
    • Responsible for the development of strategic risk reports for the senior strategy management as well as the business’s top leadership.
    • Plays the role of a strategy coach to all departmental leadership within the business, providing much-needed support in the formulation of individual department strategies. Owns strategic plans and ensures compliance with these strategies.
    • Review, manage, and analyze existing business strategies to provide counsel to the business’s leadership and ensure alignment with the business’s overall strategy. Also, assists departmental leaders and managers in driving and optimizing the improvement of key value levers that will give the business a sustainable competitive advantage.
    • Manage analyses that will provide valuable bench marking for management as well as timely insights into various departments. He will analyze long-term market trends to provide recommendations to leadership and management across the business regarding business development opportunities, inclusive of acquisition and disposal strategies.
    • Routinely work with the business’s senior executives in setting the vision and agenda of the business and work with the day-to-day planning teams in developing a clear roadmap that will realize the business’s vision and also work with the business clients to realize real business issues and develop a strategy for the business’s direction from the gathered insights.
    • Supports and leads a variety of strategic efforts inclusive of playing a pivotal role in building annual/long-term strategic plans.
    • Responsible for developing and overseeing the business’s corporate strategies to support growth objectives while strengthening the business core to develop and maintain a competitive advantage.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 10 years of working experience with 5 years in a Strategic role.
    • Associate membership of any of the accounting professional bodies (ICAN, ACCA, CIB, N, etc.) is an added advantage.

    Team lead, Business Support & Recovery

    Job Description

    • Analysing/profiling of delinquent accounts with aim of determine the minimum acceptable amount for negotiation with customer ;
    • Liaise with Business unit and develop strategy for recovery such as restructure, rescheduling/ work out ;
    • Arranging meeting with debtors towards fashioning an acceptable repayment plan between debtor-customer and Bank.;
    • Based on customer request, prepare proposal to management for interest waiver or concession in accordance with Board approval grid;
    • Communicate management decision to customer and follow up with telephone and personal visit to ensure the approved concessionary sum are paid within time frame;
    • Periodical review of already approved settlement to ensure they perform according to approval.;
    • Ensure residual balance are written off after debtor-customer has paid approved concessionary sum within time frame, issuance of non-indebtedness letter and update customer's status on credit Bureau;
    • Assign accounts to external agents, monitor their performance and manage their relationship with our customers and pay their commission on recovery according to approval guidelines.;
    • Compilation of information on delinquent accounts for discussion at credit review;
    • Liaise with appropriate external bodies including law enforcement agencies and EFCC for effective and timely recovery of the debt;
    • To recover non- performing loans and help maintain a comfortable NPL ratio for the Bank.
    • Allocation/Assigning accounts to collection agents/auctioneers
    • Processing Debtors request for interest waiver, re-instatement of lapsed concession and extension of the validity period of lapsed concession to the management.
    • Convey management approval to branches for implementation and obtaining from branch that decision have been implemented.
    • Confirmation on the Banks standard form for the release of title documents that payment has been made in accordance with management approval and then pass on to RM & C Department.
    • Compliment Relationship Managers’ efforts in the recovery of any delinquent account referred to us by work-out unit of Risk Management Department.
    • Liaising with Credit Portfolio management for the write-off of residual balance in line with management approval.
