    Internal Control Officer

    Role Overview

    • The successful candidate will work in partnership with all stakeholders. The role will be reporting directly to the Team Lead of Internal Control.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist in conducting internal control reviews across the bank by designing and implementing control testing programs to assess their effectiveness, collaborating with both finance and non-finance teams.
    • Daily Independent Call Over of all qualifying Transactions within 24 hours of posting.
    • Ensuring integrity of the general ledger through daily trial balance review and GL proofing.
    • Daily review of the reconciliation and settlement processes for NIP inward/outward, card & web transactions, Inter-bank transactions, agency banking, and biller transactions.
    • Ensure prompt resolution of all open issues in the Internal Audit Report, Management letter, Regulatory Examiners Report and other Statutory Examiners Report involving departments under your purview.
    • Daily and monthly reviews to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
    • Review of retail and business loan disbursement and other credit operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal credit policies.
    • Conduct thorough investigations and spot checks in identified areas of weakness, providing recommendations for appropriate control measures to address deficiencies.
    • Perform income assurance to ascertain accurate revenue reporting
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Requirements

    • At least 3-5 years experience in an Internal Control role of a bank.
    • ACA/ACCA is an added advantage.
    • The Ideal candidate is a critical thinker with a keen interest in improving an organization’s internal control environment.
    • Solid understanding and experience with internal control frameworks
    • Strong communication skills presenting internal control and risk matters in an understandable way across various forums and levels of the organization with the right level of detail.
    • Fintech experience is an added advantage.

    Portfolio Analysis & Reporting - Lead

    Role Overview

    • This role is responsible for managing and mitigating risks while ensuring alignment with the bank's risk appetite to support stable and positive returns. The position aims to protect the bank from significant losses that could result from poor business strategies, challenges in executing these strategies, or the failure to adjust strategies in response to changes in the business landscape. The role involves identifying, evaluating, and addressing risks to maintain the bank's financial stability and to ensure strategies are effectively implemented and adapted as needed.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze and monitor the Bank’s Portfolio, Asset Quality, Liquidity and Capital Wellness 
    • Evaluate the impact of all significant loans on Banks’s Capital, Profitability and Portfolio Concentration 
    • Monitor compliance with all regulatory and internal limits 
    • Risk reporting to MRC and BRMC to ensure they are aware of significant risks to the Bank, and to enable them perform their over-arching functions 
    • Provide metrics and reports as requested from Rating Agencies, other External and Internal parties, and for Investor Relation ratios 
    • Preparation of the portfolio plan for the Bank based on the budget proposal of the Bank. 
    • Ensure prompt rendition of Capital Adequacy Ratio report to CBN 
    • Computation of ECL in compliance with IFRS 9 standard 
    • Prepare ECL movement schedule of the Bank at intervals for both internal and External (CBN, NDIC & Auditor) purposes  
    • Preparation of monthly sectoral distribution and limit 
    • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis (internal and regulatory) for the Bank. 
    • Manage the collateral register

    Requirements

    • First Degree in numerate disciplines preferably accounting, statistics, economics and mathematics. 
    • Minimum of 8 years cognate experience preferably in audit or banking industry 
    • Proven experience in risk management, portfolio analysis, and regulatory reporting within the financial services sector.
    • Strong understanding of capital adequacy, liquidity, IFRS 9 standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Proficiency in financial modeling, credit risk analysis, and stress testing methodologies.
    • Excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
    • Advanced knowledge of financial systems and tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or similar), with experience in preparing regulatory reports and investor relations metrics.

    • The ideal candidate will be a strategic dealmaker with a proven ability to identify, negotiate, and execute partnerships that enhance customer engagement and revenue growth. They will be responsible for sourcing and structuring partnerships, optimizing incentive-driven programs such as cashback and rewards, and ensuring seamless integrations that maximize value for both Kuda and its partners.
    • Success in this role requires a strong commercial mindset, deep experience in strategic partnerships, and the ability to navigate complex negotiations to secure long-term, profitable collaborations.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute strategic partnership initiatives to drive business growth, with a primary focus on securing and managing merchant partnerships in the retail, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors.
    • Identify, evaluate, and prioritize new partnership opportunities by leveraging market research, industry trends, competitive analysis, and customer insights.
    • Lead negotiations and structure commercially viable deals with both new and existing partners, ensuring the creation of mutually beneficial co-branding, cashback, and incentive-driven initiatives to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including product, marketing, technology, legal, and finance, to ensure smooth execution and integration of partnerships.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers within partner organizations to foster long-term strategic alliances and ensure seamless ongoing operations.
    • Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, using insights to refine partnership strategies and drive continuous business growth.
    • Oversee the design and execution of contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and performance metrics to ensure partnerships deliver maximum value.
    • Track and report on partnership performance, providing data-driven recommendations to optimize results and scale initiatives effectively.
    • Lead and scale the partnership function by recruiting, mentoring, and managing a team of business development and account management professionals to support the teams expansion efforts.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 8 years in strategic partnerships, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, focusing on high-value deals in retail, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors.
    • Proven ability to negotiate and execute commercially viable partnerships, including co-branding, cashback, and incentive-driven programs.
    • Skilled in tracking partnership performance, leveraging key metrics, market research, and industry trends to optimise strategies and enhance customer engagement.
