    Director of Health Services

    Location: Owerri, Imo

    Job Description

    • The Director of Health Services is the Chief Health Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day running and administration of the University's Health Services and facilities, recommendation of all health policies in the University, and taking charge of Health Services Department in accordance with the University statutes.

    The Person

    • The candidates for the post must exhibit considerable degree of competence, expertise and demonstrable integrity for the running of a Department of Health Services of a University.
    • Prospective candidates must be duly licensed and practicing medical doctors and must be active members of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).
    • The Candidate must not be more than fifty nine (59) years of age at the time of appointment and must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duties as a Director of Health Services.

    Qualifications

    • The Candidates must have a good honours Degree (MBBS) from a recognized University and at least fifteen (15) years of relevant service experience.
    • Candidates should be Officers of not below the rank of Deputy Director of Health Services in a University or a similar Institution.
    • In addition, candidates must be a Fellow of West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) or other relevant bodies. Possession of a higher degree in health related disciplines will be advantage.

    Conditions of Service

    • The appointment is for a period of five (5) years and is pensionable. The basic salary attached to the post is CONTISS (II) 15.
    • Other allowances and fringe benefits are as currently applicable to similar positions in the Nigerian University System and as may be determined by the Federal Government and the Governing Council from time to time.

    Director of Physical Planning and Development

    Job Description

    • The Director of Physical Planning and Development is the Chief Physical Planning Officer of the University responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for all aspects of Physical Planning and Infrastructural Development of the University as well as advising the University on the formulation, execution and review of policies affecting the Physical Planning and Development Section.

    The Person

    • The candidates for the position of Director of Physical Planning and Development must exhibit considerable degree of competence, responsiveness and demonstrable integrity for the running of the Department of Procurement and Directorate of Physical and Development Unit respectively of a University.
    • Prospective candidates must be proficient in ICT particularly in Computer Aided Designs and Controls.
    • The candidate must not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of appointment and must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duty of Director of Physical Planning and Development of a fast growing specialized University of Technology.

    Qualifications

    • The candidates must have a good honours Degree either in Engineering, Architecture or Quantity Surveying and similar professions from a recognized University and at least fifteen (15) years of relevant post qualification service experience at University/equivalent level.
    • Candidates should be officers of not below the rank of a Deputy Director of Physical Planning in a University or a similar institution.
    • Possession of a higher degree will be added advantage, while membership of relevant professional body(ies) of the candidate's discipline is mandatory.

    Director of Procurement

    Job Description

    • The Director of Procurement is the Head of the Procurement unit responsible to the Vice Chancellor who is the Chief Accounting Officer for the handling of all Procurement matters in the University and the day-to-day activities of the Procurement Unit.

    The Person

    • The candidates for the position of Director of Procurement must exhibit considerable degree of competence, responsiveness and demonstrable integrity for the running of the Directorate of Procurement.
    • The candidate must not be more than fifty nine (59) years of age at the time of appointment and must be in good health to be able to endure the rigours of the duty of Director of Procurement of a fast growing specialized University of Technology.

    Qualifications

    • The candidates must have a good honours Degree either in Purchasing and Supply Management, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Marketing, Statistics, Computer Science, Banking and Finance, Insurance or Law, from a recognized University and at least fifteen (15) years of relevant post qualification service experience at University / equivalent level.
    • Candidates should be Officers of not below the rank of Deputy Director of Procurement in a University or a similar Institution.
    • Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage, while membership or licenses of relevant professional body(ies) of the candidate's discipline is mandatory.

    Registrar

    Job Description

    • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except as regards matters for which the Bursar is responsible.
    • The Registrar is also the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Congregation and Convocation.
    • The candidates for the position must not be more than fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of appointment.
    • The appointment is for a period of five (5) years subject to one (1) year extension.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Candidates should not be officers below the rank of Deputy Registrar in a University or similar Institution.
    • Possession of a higher degree will be an added advantage.
    • Membership of recognized professional bodies is mandatory.

    Specifically, the candidate is expected to:

    • Be a person with good leadership qualities who can inspire and motivate a crop of young administrative officers to be able to get the best out of them;
    • Be a person of high integrity, who promotes merit;
    • Be a person who enjoys excellent physical and mental health;
    • Be focused and innovation and
    • Be computer literate/proficient

    Conditions of Service
    These are the same as in the Federal Public Service and as applicable to Federal Universities in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the University Governing Council.

    Registrar
