    Cleaner (Hospitality & Facility Hygiene)

    Purpose of the Job

    • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our luxury, high-end restaurant and café environments.
    • The ideal candidate will ensure that all areas — including dining spaces, restrooms, kitchens, and back-of-house facilities — remain impeccably clean, sanitized, and well organized at all times.
    • This role is critical in delivering a safe, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere that supports an exceptional dining and specialty coffee experience for our guests.

    The Role: Custodian of Cleanliness & Brand Standards:

    • As a Cleaner, you are essential to upholding the premium presentation and hygiene standards that define our brand. Your attention to detail and consistency will directly impact guest comfort, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities
    Cleaning & Hygiene Excellence:

    • Ensure all dining areas, kitchen spaces, restrooms, and service areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest hygiene standards.
    • Sweep, mop, and polish floors to maintain a pristine appearance.
    • Wipe down and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and furniture regularly.
    • Properly clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as door handles, railings, and menu holders.

    Restroom Maintenance:

    • Maintain restrooms in spotless condition by cleaning sinks, mirrors, toilets, urinals, and floors frequently.
    • Refill toiletries including soap, hand sanitizers, paper towels, and tissue as needed.
    • Ensure restrooms remain fresh, dry, and fully stocked throughout operational hours.

    Waste Management & Sanitation:

    • Empty trash bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste in designated areas.
    • Ensure proper waste segregation in line with hygiene standards.
    • Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify management when restocking is required

    Linen & Uniform Care:

    • Ensure cleaning cloths, napkins, and towels are washed, dried, and stored properly.
    • Handle staff uniforms (where applicable) and assist in maintaining their cleanliness and presentation.

    Safety & Maintenance Reporting:

    • Address and promptly report maintenance issues such as leaks, clogs, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to management.
    • Place caution signs when cleaning wet floors to prevent accidents.
    • Store cleaning chemicals and equipment safely after use.

    Operational Support:

    • Participate in scheduled deep-cleaning exercises.
    • Assist with pre-opening and post-closing cleaning routines.
    • Perform other related duties assigned by Management.

    Requirements

    • Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant, or commercial cleaning preferred
    • Strong understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards

    Barista (Speciality Coffee Professional)

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and globally minded Barista to join our team and deliver world-class specialty coffee experiences.
    • At Mai Shayi Coffee Roaster’s Limited, a Barista is not simply a beverage maker, You are:

    • You will be responsible for preparing exceptional coffee and tea beverages with precision and consistency, delivering outstanding hospitality, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, efficiency, and professionalism.

    Key Responsibilities
    Specialty Beverage Craftsmanship:

    • Expertly prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, manual brews, signature drinks, and specialty teas with precision and consistency.
    • Dial in espresso daily, monitor extraction quality, and adjust grind size and yield for optimal flavor.
    • Maintain high standards in milk texturing, latte art, and beverage presentation.
    • Ensure consistency in taste, temperature, and visual appeal in every cup served.

    Equipment Operation & Maintenance:

    • Operate and maintain professional espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment in line with global best practices.
    • Ensure optimal performance of equipment through routine calibration and cleaning.

    Guest Experience & Coffee Education:

    • Deliver warm, confident, and professional service at all times.
    • Engage guests with knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, roast profiles, and flavor notes.

    • Handle guest feedback professionally and contribute to service recovery where necessary.

    Café Operations & Team Collaboration:

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked coffee station at all times.
    • Support smooth service flow by working closely with hostesses, servers, kitchen staff, and management.
    • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including inventory checks, cleaning schedules, and restocking.
    • Contribute to maintaining a premium, luxury café environment.

    Continuous Learning & Brand Representation:

    • Continuously develop knowledge of specialty coffee, brewing methods, and machine technology.
    • Participate in internal training sessions and certification programs.
    • Represent the Mai Shayi Coffee brand with professionalism, confidence, and integrity.

    Core Requirements

    • Prior experience as a Barista is an added advantage.
    • Strong understanding of espresso extraction and milk texturing
    • Passion for specialty coffee and hospitality
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-end environment
    • High level of personal grooming and professional presentation
    • Flexible and willing to work across multiple locations if required

    Preferred (But Not Mandatory):

    • Certification in specialty coffee (SCA or equivalent)
    • Experience with high-end espresso machines
    • Knowledge of manual brewing techniques ( Chemex, AeroPress, etc.)
    • Experience in luxury hospitality environments.

    • At Mai Shayi Coffee, the term Hostess is not just about welcoming guests—it is an elite, multi- functional role that combines sales, customer experience, specialty coffee knowledge, and brand representation into one dynamic position.
    • This role requires intelligence, charisma, confidence, and a deep passion for coffee, sales, and hospitality. Our Hostesses are brand ambassadors—frontline professionals responsible for curating unforgettable guest experiences, driving sales, and ensuring seamless internal and external communication across our cafe operations, B2B partnerships, and retail engagement channels.
    • This role requires adaptability—Hostesses are not restricted to one location; they must be flexible and willing to work at any of our coffee houses, engage with customers online, and even visit clients for sales & marketing initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities
    Sales & Business Development:

    • Engage customers’ and clients’ in-person and online, building strong relationships that lead to repeat business.
    • Actively promote and sell Mai Shayi Coffee’s specialty coffee, brewing equipment, and Victoria Arduino/Nuova Simonelli machines to B2B and retail clients.
    • Educate customers on coffee origins, roast profiles, brewing techniques, and coffee tasting experiences.

    Guest Relations & Customer Service Excellence:

    • Be the face of Mai Shayi Coffee—offering personalized and engaging interactions with customers.

    • Handle guest complaints and feedback with professionalism, ensuring every customer interaction is a positive one.
    • Coordinate VIP and corporate bookings, ensuring high standards of service and experience delivery.

    Curating Unique Cafe Experiences:

    • Lead the creation of immersive coffee experiences, including specialty tastings, master classes, and cultural events.
    • Work closely with the café operations team to implement new concepts that enhance our customer experience. Assist in conceptualizing and executing seasonal and promotional coffee events.

    Internal Communications & Digital Engagement:

    • Serve as a liaison between the Cafe team, Roastery, and Training Academy, ensuring smooth communication and execution of brand objectives.

    Coffee Knowledge & Technical Expertise:

    • Train and educate customers and clients on the best brewing methods, decanting styles, and serving approaches for the ultimate coffee experience.
    • Gain working knowledge of Victoria Arduino and Nuova Simonelli espresso machines, assisting with both retail and B2B sales by demonstrating machine capabilities.

    Flexibility & Multi-Location Wor

    • Be adaptable—Hostesses will be deployed to any of our cafe locations based on operational needs
    • Occasionally visit existing and prospective clients for product demonstrations, relationship-building, and sales presentations.

    Reports To:

    • Primary: Head of Cafe Operations
    • Secondary: Group Head of Sales & Marketing
    • Tertiary: CEO (for strategic assignments)

    Core Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree (completed)
    • Must have completed NYSC (National Youth Service Corps)
    • Height Requirement: Tall, poised, and confident in presentation
    • Passionate about coffee, sales, and guest experience

    • Flexible, adaptable, and open to working across different locations
