    Senior Finance Executive

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for ensuring that all inflows into the company are receipted and recognized correctly and promptly in the company's accounting ledgers; administering settlement of accounts; and recording transactions in line with the laid down processes and procedures of the company.

    Responsibilities

    Finance Operations

    • Issue receipts and inflows on a daily basis.
    • File all receipts and schedules raised in the Head-Office appropriately.
    • Reconcile bank accounts and escalate unreconciled bank issues promptly.
    • Prepare daily reports, bank balances and other reports as requested.
    • Prepare and reconcile premiums billed in advance.
    • Post schedules of receipts raised in the Head-Office as may be allocated by the Chief Finance Officer.
    • Ensure timely reconciliation and recognition of transactions ‘billed in advance’.
    • Maintain a secure, efficient and accurate filing system (electronic and hard copies) to ensure safe and easy storage and retrieval of information.
    • Reconciliation of assigned bank accounts (LCY and FCY) with the cashbook within first three (3) working days of the succeeding month.
    • Reconcile all corporate division claims paid during the period with technical units.
    • Assist in preparing all supporting schedules to the monthly management account.
    • Review payment requisitions to ensure accuracy of transaction processing (code, amount and necessary approvals) in line with payment requisition workflow.
    • Raise and post journals necessary for correction.
    • Reconcile bank statements allocated on a monthly basis.
    • Reconcile claims paid and outstanding claims reserve account.
    • Maintain accurate Asset Register, Fixed Assets Schedule, and depreciation charges on a monthly basis.
    • Prepare all tax related payments (PAYE, VAT, WHT) for review by the Head of Financial Reporting before filing with the tax authorities, in accordance with timelines.
    • Prepare regulatory returns to NAICOM (monthly and quarterly) for the review of Head, Financial Reporting.
    • Submit periodic reports as required to the Head of Financial Reporting.

    Other Duties

    • Any other tasks as may be assigned by the Chief Finance Officer.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
    • 4 - 7 years relevant experience
    • Minimum of an associate membership of a professional accounting body (e.g. ICAN, ACCA)
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Problem-solving
    • Finance processes
