The Sales Manager will lead our market expansion efforts for cassava starch.
You will be responsible for driving B2B sales, managing key industrial accounts, and establishing Matna Foods as the preferred supplier of high-quality cassava starch for multinational and local manufacturers.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a robust sales strategy to penetrate the Lagos industrial market.
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, textile, and paper industries.
Monitor market trends, competitor pricing, and demand fluctuations to provide actionable insights.
Act as the primary point of contact for high-value industrial clients (Key Accounts).
Negotiate high-volume supply contracts, ensuring favorable terms and long-term partnerships.
Conduct regular client visits to ensure product satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities.
Liaise with the production team at the farm/processing site to ensure product availability aligns with sales forecasts.
Oversee the logistics of starch delivery within Lagos State to ensure timely and professional distribution.
Manage credit limits and ensure the timely collection of receivables.
Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports, forecasting, and budget performance analysis.
Maintain an updated CRM database of all prospects and existing clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in B2B industrial sales, preferably within the FMCG or Agribusiness sector.
Proven track record of selling industrial raw materials (starch, flour, or sweeteners) to large-scale manufacturers.
Understanding of the industrial landscape in Lagos (Ikeja, Agbara, Ikorodu, etc.).
Exceptional ability to close high-stakes deals with procurement managers and directors.
Ability to discuss product specifications (moisture content, pH levels, viscosity) with client Quality Assurance teams.
