Job Description:

Introduction

This job would appeal to those who consider themselves good household managers.  Keeping a clean, tidy and healthy environment is very important in the home.  A Domestic assistant helps to  maintain order in general.

Work Environment
Work is carried out in the home and can be physically demanding. Domestic assistants will be required to do the following:

• Undertake cooking duties
• Plan monthly menu and daily specials.
• Create prep lists for kitchen purchases.
• Manage food costing and inventory.
• Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
• Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and nutrition regulations.
• General housekeeping duties
• Ensure the cleanliness and proper maintainance of the house
• Keep the entire building and the environment tidy always
• Supervision of house maintenance crew
• Act as caregiver for the residential security dog
• Feed the dog daily as required
• Ensure daily routine for the dog is maintained
• Maintain daily inventory of guests for security purpose

More Details on Daily Responsibilities

• Cleanliness of the bedrooms, sitting rooms, dining areas, staircase, corridors, bathrooms/toilets;
• General dining room duties - laying/waiting at/clearing tables, washing up; 
• Kitchen duties - cleaning, preparation of food and some cooking; 
• The use of domestic type laundry equipment for the care of linen and clothing - washing machines, irons etc.; 
• Bed making, care of linen and clothing including minor washing and ironing
• Knowing where the fire extinguishers and what action to take in an emergency; 
• Participating in relevant training and personal development.
• Turning the generator on and off
• All other domestic related responsibilities
