    Production Manager – Cassava & Palm Oil Processing

    About the Role

    • We are a cassava and oil palm processing factory based in Ogun State seeking a hands-on Production Manager to oversee daily operations.
    • You will be responsible for running efficient, safe, and profitable production lines for garri, cassava flour/starch, crude palm oil CPO, and palm kernel oil PKO, while ensuring product quality meets NAFDAC and market standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Production Operations:

    • Plan and manage daily production schedules for cassava and palm oil lines to meet targets.
    • Oversee processing stages: sterilization, digestion, pressing, clarification, drying, frying, and packaging.
    • Monitor yield, throughput, and material losses. Implement measures to improve extraction rates and reduce waste.

    Quality & Compliance:

    • Ensure all processes follow Good Manufacturing Practices GMP and HACCP.
    • Work with NAFDAC, SON and other regulators to maintain certifications and product compliance.
    • Conduct in-process and finished product quality checks.

    Team and Labor Management:

    • Supervise over 20 factory staff and casual labor. Handle shift scheduling, training, and discipline.
    • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce PPE and safety protocols.

    Supply Chain and Maintenance:

    • Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of cassava tubers, fresh palm fruit, and packaging materials.
    • Liaise with technicians for preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery.
    • Track inventory of raw materials, spares, and finished goods.

    Reporting and Cost Control:

    • Prepare daily/weekly production reports on output, losses, downtime, and costs.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities in fuel, labor, and materials without compromising quality.
    • Work with management to set and achieve production budgets.

    Requirements

    • B.Sc/HND in Food Science & Technology, Agricultural Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field.
    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in agro-processing, preferably cassava, palm oil, or similar perishable crops.
    • Practical knowledge of cassava and palm oil processing equipment and workflows.
    • Familiarity with NAFDAC, SON, and HACCP standards.
    • Proficiency in basic MS Excel/Google Sheets for production tracking. Experience with ERP is an advantage.
    • Resident in or willing to relocate to Ogun State. Knowledge of local supply networks in Ijebu, Abeokuta, Sagamu areas is a plus.
