    Official Driver

    Key Responsibilities

    The Official Driver will be responsible for:

    • Driving company executives, staff, guests, or official items safely to assigned destinations.
    • Navigating Lagos routes efficiently, especially Island, Lekki, Ajah, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, and surrounding areas.
    • Driving to locations outside Lagos when required.
    • Ensuring safe, responsible, and defensive driving at all times.
    • Observing all Lagos traffic laws, road safety rules, and company driving policies.
    • Planning routes ahead of trips to avoid unnecessary delays.
    • Using Google Maps or other navigation tools where necessary.
    • Keeping the assigned vehicle clean, tidy, and in excellent condition.
    • Carrying out daily vehicle checks, including fuel, tyres, oil, water, brakes, lights, and general vehicle condition.
    • Reporting vehicle faults, damages, servicing needs, accidents, or incidents immediately.
    • Ensuring all vehicle documents, licences, permits, and registrations are valid and up to date.
    • Maintaining trip records, fuel records, and other vehicle-related logs where required.
    • Supporting basic errands, dispatch, or logistics duties when assigned.
    • Maintaining confidentiality regarding official movements, conversations, and company information.
    • Representing the organization professionally at all times.

    Requirements

    Interested candidates must meet the following requirements:

    • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ professional driving experience.
    • Valid Nigerian driver’s licence.
    • Good knowledge of Lagos road networks, routes, traffic laws, and traffic patterns.
    • Ability to commute easily between Lagos Island and Ibeju-Lekki without constraints.
    • Good knowledge of alternative routes within Lagos.
    • Experience driving to locations outside Lagos is an added advantage.
    • Good understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Must be punctual, reliable, honest, and disciplined.
    • Must be smart, neat, respectful, and well-presented.
    • Must be calm, patient, and able to handle Lagos traffic professionally.
    • Must have good communication skills.
    • Must be physically fit and willing to work flexible hours when required.
    • Must be security-conscious and discreet.
    • Must have no record of reckless driving or serious traffic violations.
    • Previous experience as an executive driver, corporate driver, or official driver will be an added advantage.

    Preferred Skills and Qualities

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Excellent knowledge of Lagos terrain.
    • Strong defensive driving skills.
    • Good knowledge of routes to nearby states and other locations outside Lagos.
    • Ability to use navigation apps effectively.
    • Good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    • Good time management skills.
    • Patience, maturity, and emotional control.
    • Respectful attitude toward colleagues, guests, and management.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect company interests.

    Educational Qualification

    • Minimum of SSCE, GCE, NECO, or equivalent qualification.
    • Additional driving, road safety, or defensive driving certification will be an advantage.
