    Non-Maximum Demand Metering Management Lead

    Role Purpose

    • To provide strategic leadership and oversight of all Non-Maximum Demand (NMD) metering operations, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and integrity of customer and asset data.
    • The role drives prepaid metering revenue optimization, enforces compliance, mitigates risks such as power theft, and fosters innovation in processes and systems.
    • By aligning people, processes, and technology, the position ensures customer satisfaction, sustainable revenue growth, and operational excellence across the business.

    Role Accountabilities

    • Provide leadership for the entire team on PPM accounts management on Ultima and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (CIS) and any other Energy Management System as provided by the business, dealing immediately with exceptions.
    • Ensure accurate and timely migrations of receivables from postpaid to pre-paid platforms.
    • Create and manage a complete and accurate Assets and Customer Database, with proven evidence of reliability.
    • Project PPM revenue for the entire Disco based on trend analysis. Compare customers’ monthly consumption patterns (demography, billing, availability, and consumption).
    • Review monthly reports on PPM energy allocation vs. monthly revenue.
    • Review monthly ageing analysis/low vending activity report.
    • Joint compliance responsibilities for vending cashiers at respective Business Units.
    • Provide input for development of departmental policies/procedures.
    • Analyze and maintain statistical forecasts for prepaid meter customers.
    • Perform analysis on power theft using prepaid meter data.
    • Provide delinquency report to vigilance team (e.g., zero vend, low vend, sparing vending).
    • Direct, manage, and provide strategy to the team during projects.
    • Provide qualitative and quantitative information to management on automation areas requiring buy-in and process improvement.
    • Review overall performance for productivity.
    • Ensure quality of NMD customer metering.
    • Guarantee efficacy of NMD metering infrastructures.
    • Comply with QMS/OHS requirements, policies, and applicable regulations.
    • Assist in carrying out any other duties as requested by the Unit Head and Head of Department.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Minimum of a first degree (or equivalent) in any field
    • Postgraduate qualification is an advantage
    • 8–10 years post-qualification experience (3–5 years managerial role)
