    Modern Trade Manager

    Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Modern Trade Manager to join our dynamic FMCG team.
    • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing our modern trade business, ensuring strong relationships with key accounts, and driving sales performance across modern market outlets such as Shoprite, Justrite, SPA, Jendol, and other leading modern trade chains.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute modern trade strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth.
    • Manage and maintain strong business relationships with key accounts within the modern trade sector.
    • Lead, coach, and motivate a sales team to deliver excellent execution and performance in modern trade channels.
    • Negotiate and manage contracts, listings, pricing, and promotional activities with modern trade customers.
    • Ensure excellent in-store visibility, merchandising, and availability of products.
    • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
    • Prepare and present sales performance reports, insights, and forecasts to management.
    • Work cross-functionally with supply chain, marketing, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (an MBA is an added advantage).
    • Minimum of 8 years’ proven experience in managing modern trade accounts in an FMCG company or companies.
    • Strong track record in building and sustaining relationships with major modern market outlets (Shoprite, Justrite, SPA, Jendol, etc.).
    • Demonstrated ability to lead a sales team and deliver against ambitious targets.
    • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Must reside in and have work experience within the location applied for.
