    Internal Auditor

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Internal Auditor to assess and enhance the integrity of our hotel’s financial operations, internal controls, and compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hospitality operations, risk management, and regulatory frameworks, and will play a key role in safeguarding assets, improving processes, and ensuring transparency across departments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Audit & Compliance

    • Conduct regular audits of financial transactions, operational procedures, and internal controls across all departments (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping, Spa, etc.).
    • Evaluate compliance with hotel policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Identify risks, irregularities, and inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.

    Financial Review

    • Review revenue streams, expense reports, payroll, procurement, and inventory management for accuracy and accountability.
    • Monitor cash handling procedures, credit card transactions, and banking reconciliations.
    • Verify the accuracy of financial statements and reports submitted to management.

    Process Improvement

    • Assess the effectiveness of existing systems and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
    • Collaborate with department heads to implement best practices and internal control enhancements.
    • Track audit findings and follow up on remediation efforts.

    Reporting & Documentation

    • Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans.
    • Present audit results to senior management and/or the audit committee.
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of audit procedures and outcomes.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Education    Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CPA, ACCA) preferred
    • Experience    1 - 3+ years in internal auditing, preferably in hospitality or service industries
    • Technical Skills    Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Opera, Sun Systems, QuickBooks), MS Excel, and audit tools
    • Knowledge    Strong understanding of hotel operations, financial controls, and risk management
    • Soft Skills    Integrity, attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and discretion
