In-Home Cook / Executive Chef at Private Employer

Job Summary 

We are seeking a dependable and caring In-Home Cook to prepare and serve daily meals for elderly parents in a private home. The ideal candidate will plan and prepare nutritious meals based on the parents’ preferences, manage grocery shopping, and maintain a clean and organized meal service area. This role requires patience, attention to dietary needs, and a genuine interest in supporting the well-being of older adults.

Key Responsibilities 

• Meal Preparation & Cooking 
• Prepare all daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) 
• Cook fresh, balanced, and age-appropriate meals 
• Adjust meal preparation based on dietary needs and preferences 

Meal Service 

• Serve meals to elderly parents in a respectful and timely manner 
• Ensure meals are presented neatly and served at appropriate temperatures 

Menu Planning 

• Develop and maintain a daily menu based on elderly parents’ preferences 
• Vary meals to ensure balance, nutrition, and enjoyment 
• Communicate regularly with family regarding menu planning and feedback 

Grocery Shopping 

• Purchase groceries and food items as needed 
• Select fresh, high-quality ingredients 
• Manage food inventory and ensure proper storage 

Service Area Preparation & Maintenance 

• Prepare the dining/service area before meals 
• Clean and organize cooking and serving materials after use 
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and service areas 

Qualifications & Skills 

• Previous experience as a home cook, private cook, or similar role preferred 
• Knowledge of basic nutrition, especially for elderly individuals 
• Knowledge of traditional Urhobo and Ukwane cuisine preferred 
• Ability to plan meals and manage grocery purchases independently 
• Clean, organized, and attentive to food safety and hygiene 
• Patient, respectful, and reliable

Schedule & Compensation 

• Schedule: Full-time
• Compensation: N100,000 - N250,000 Monthly based on skill and experience + yearly bonus
