Hygiene Promotion Assistant at Center for Advocacy, Transparency, and Accountability Initiative (CATAI)

Job Type: Contract (6 month duration)
Reporting to:  Hygiene Promotion Officer
Proposed start date: August 2025

Job Summary: 

To identify gaps in terms of hygiene, sanitation, and water consumption, the hygiene assistants will; 

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of training modules for the promotion of hygiene practices at homes in camps and communities, as well as in-home visits and community visits (schools, health institutions, etc.)
• Assist communities and health facilities in implementing safe hygiene practices by planning emergency hygiene promotion awareness-raising programs and encouraging the installation of latrines, hand washing stations, and clean environments
• To identify gaps in terms of hygiene, sanitation, and water consumption, the hygiene assistants will; 
• Assist in the preparation of training modules for the promotion of hygiene practices at homes in camps and communities, as well as in-home visits and community visits (schools, health institutions, etc.)

Assist communities and health facilities in implementing safe hygiene practices by planning emergency hygiene promotion awareness-raising programs and encouraging the installation of latrines, hand washing stations, and clean environments

Qualification: 

• Minimum of National Diploma in Public Health or Health related field
• Motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, adaptable, and, culturally sensitive
• Willing and able to be based and travel often within remote areas, where services are limited 
• Proficiency in English, Hausa and Kanuri is an added advantage.
• Dedication to the mission, values, and policies of CATAI Vision
• Thorough understanding of the intervention region or areas and the local economy
• Prior experience working with CATAI.
