Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will (but not limited to):

• Collaborate with senior hospital management to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives aligned with clinical and operational goals.
• Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processes to ensure staffing levels and skills meet healthcare standards.
• Facilitate employee relations and conflict resolution, serving as a mediator and advocate for fair treatment across all levels.
• Lead the implementation and monitoring of performance management systems to support staff development and accountability.
• Oversee compliance with labor laws, healthcare regulations, and internal HR policies and procedures.
• Identify and coordinate continuous learning and professional development opportunities for clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Conduct workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development projects to support long-term staffing needs.
• Partner with finance and department heads on workforce budgeting, compensation, and benefits strategies.
• Support change management efforts, especially during medical innovations, technology upgrades, and restructuring initiatives.
• Develop and present HR reports, metrics, and recommendations to hospital leadership for data-driven decision-making.
• Monitor employee engagement levels and implement initiatives that foster a positive and productive workplace culture.
• Coordinate employee health, safety, and wellness programs in alignment with healthcare protocols and best practices.
• Lead HR audits and prepare for inspections to ensure regulatory compliance and readiness for accreditation reviews.
• Advise hospital leadership on best practices in workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Manage disciplinary processes and grievance procedures with fairness, confidentiality, and legal compliance.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field
• Master’s degree in Human Resources, Healthcare Management, or an MBA is an added advantage
• Professional certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, HRCI) is required
• Minimum of 10 year’s experience in Human Resources, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. 

Required Competencies:

• Ability to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the hospital’s clinical and operational goals.
• Expertise in attracting, selecting, and retaining qualified healthcare professionals while planning for future workforce needs.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare labor laws, accreditation standards (e.g., NHIS, HEFAMAA), and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Ability to lead organizational change, restructure departments, and drive initiatives that enhance culture, productivity, and patient-centered care.
• Ability to analyze HR metrics, use data for forecasting, and provide actionable insights that support hospital leadership.
• Maintains the highest standard of discretion, especially when handling staff records, medical HR compliance, and disciplinary issues.
