    Head, Sales and Growth - Payments

    Role Summary

    • Drives revenue and market expansion through strategic partnershipswith focus on Pos/Mobile/Cards channels.

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Business / Finance with 8+ years fintech/mobile money experience.
    • Strategy Development: Developing a comprehensive sales and distribution strategy to maximize opportunities and define the approach for direct sales and account retention across agents, merchants, mobile users, cards and digital revenue streams.
    • Revenue Generation: Planning, implementing, and managing sales initiatives to achieve overall revenue and profitability targets.
    • Market Expansion: Identifying new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, and partnerships, and building plans to launch and scale operations in these areas in line with compliance with CBN guidelines for financial services.
    • Team Leadership: Recruiting, training, and mobilizing high-performing sales and growth teams. Manage sales budgets, commissions, incentives, and field operations
    • Pipeline Management: Overseeing the entire sales pipeline, ensuring timely follow-up on leads, negotiation, and deal closure.
    • Partnerships: Build strategic partnerships with the value chain, FMCGs, aggregators, cooperatives, and enterprise merchants.
    • Collaboration: Working closely with product, marketing, and delivery teams to align customer needs with company capabilities and develop targeted campaigns.
    • Performance Analysis: Lead field teams, forecasting, and performance analytics Monitoring and reviewing sales performance by analysing reports and key performance indicators to guide future strategies.

    Competencies:

    • Leadership, negotiation, data-driven sales management.
    • Proven track record of successful financial services sales, preferably within the fintech sector – mobile. Pos/Merchant/Agency segments
    • Understanding of digital technologies, financial regulations, and emerging trends
    • Exceptional communication, negotiation, leadership, and strategic thinking
    • Experience in start-up or tech-driven industries.
    • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (business, finance, etc.); additional certifications are beneficial.
    • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in building and managing high-performing, results-driven teams.
