Head of Competence Centre, Agribusiness at Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria)

Key Responsibilities:

• The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager.
• Lead the strategic development and operations of the Agribusiness Competence Centre.
• Develop and implement programs to support agribusiness development in Nigeria.
• Scouts business options including product & partnership development along the full range of the agribusiness value chain, i.e. agricultural inputs, farm production, collection & trade, primary processing, secondary processing, wholesale, retail, consummation.
• Liaises with main actors in the industry in Nigeria and Germany, institutions and public stakeholders, development programs, Access to Finance, Federal ministries, the German Consulate General in Lagos and the AHK network and its partners.
• Responsible for the departmental workflow and reporting (financially and factually).
• Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders in Nigeria and internationally.
• Identify opportunities for capacity building, innovation, and market expansion in the agribusiness sector.
• Organize workshops, seminars, and networking events focused on agribusiness growth.
• Oversee research and analysis to provide market insights and actionable recommendations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agriculture, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in agribusiness development, project management, or a related role.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of MS Office, social media and professional programs.
• Ability to present to an audience in various settings (training, business, delegations).
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge/familiarity of German and Nigeria agribusiness landscape sectors and international trade dynamics.
• German language skill B2 (or equivalent) or higher is an advantage.
• Nigerian work permit.
