General Manager at Mama Mia Farm

THE ROLE

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be the chief executor of the Mama Mia Farm growth strategy — running the business day-to-day, owning the P&L, building and managing the team, and driving commercial performance across all four target markets. You will report directly to the Managing Director.

This is not a desk job. You will be in the market, in the factory, and in front of buyers. You will build a business — not manage a process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Leadership

• Own and deliver monthly and quarterly revenue targets across all distribution outlets and markets
• Oversee and grow distribution across 8 existing outlets in Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo — deepening volume at each outlet
• Lead market entry into FCT Abuja — from pilot phase to operational outlet
• Negotiate and close supermarket listing agreements with FoodCo, Justrite, Spar, and national chains
• Approve and sign distributor agreements; manage top-tier distributor relationships personally

Team Management

• Recruit, onboard, and manage the Mama Mia Farm team of 12–15 across all states by Year 1 end
• Line-manage the Sales & Distribution Manager, Marketing & Brand Manager, Accounts Officer, and QA Officer
• Conduct fortnightly 1:1s with all direct reports; chair weekly management meeting
• Set individual KPIs for all team members; conduct quarterly performance reviews

Operations & Quality

• Oversee factory operations in conjunction with the QA Officer — NAFDAC compliance, cold-chain integrity, hygiene standards
• Manage the logistics model: Abeokuta factory dispatch to all 8 outlets + Abuja overnight run
• Ensure branded packaging production is on schedule and meets specification
• Present monthly management accounts to the Managing Director

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications

• Minimum: B.Sc. in Business Administration, Marketing, Food Science, Agribusiness, or related field
• MBA or professional qualification (NIMN, ICAN partial, CIM) is a strong advantage
• NAFDAC/food processing regulatory knowledge is an advantage

Experience

• 4–8+ years minimum experience in FMCG, food processing, agro-allied, or consumer goods sector
• Minimum 2 years in a management, P&L-owning, or business leadership role
• Proven experience managing multi-state distribution or field sales teams across Southwest Nigeria
• Demonstrated track record of growing revenue, opening new markets, and managing distributor relationships
• Prior experience dealing with supermarket chain buyers (Shoprite, FoodCo, Spar) is a significant advantage

Personal Attributes

• High energy, commercially driven, and comfortable making decisions in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
• Excellent communicator — capable of presenting to the MD, negotiating with supermarket buyers, and motivating market-level field staff
• Willing to travel frequently across Ogun, Lagos, Ibadan, and Abuja Highly organised — able to manage multiple states, priorities, and people simultaneously
• Integrity and transparency — you will hold a P&L and manage money; trust is non-negotiable

• Gross salary: ₦300,000–₦500,000 per month, commensurate with experience
