The Group Performance Manager is responsible for driving financial and operational performance excellence across the Group and its subsidiaries. The role provides rigorous performance oversight, deep analytical insight, and forward-looking decision support to Executive Management. The position acts as the central nerve centre for Group performance, ensuring that strategy is translated into measurable outcomes, underperformance is promptly identified, and value creation is actively tracked and enforced.
Job Details
Group Performance & Financial Monitoring
- Develop and maintain a robust Group performance management framework covering financial and non-financial KPIs.
- Monitor monthly, quarterly, and annual performance of all subsidiaries against budget, forecast, and prior year
- Prepare detailed variance analysis with clear explanations and recommended corrective actions.
- Track profitability, cost efficiency, productivity, and return metrics across the Group.
Management Reporting & Insights
- Produce Group-level dashboards, and performance packs for Executive and senior management.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and timeliness of performance data across subsidiaries.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, decision-ready insights.
- Support preparation of Board papers, strategy packs, and investor/internal presentations.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Coordinate and support the Group budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with subsidiary finance teams, Group Financial Controller and Group Finance Manager.
- Challenge assumptions, validate forecasts, and ensure alignment with Group strategy. Monitor rolling forecasts and identify emerging performance risks or opportunities.
KPI Design & Performance Governance
- Design, review, and refine Group financial and non-financial KPIs aligned with strategic objectives.
- Monitor achievement and growth towards the KPIs.
- Ensure subsidiaries adhere to agreed performance definitions, reporting templates, and timelines.
- Support performance review meetings with subsidiaries and track agreed action items.
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
- Act as a key finance business partner to Group leadership and subsidiary CEOs/CFOs.
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, new products, investments, and transformation projects.
- Support post-implementation reviews and performance tracking of strategic initiatives.
Systems, Controls & Process Improvement
- Drive improvements in performance reporting systems, tools, and processes.
- Automate and standardise reporting where possible to improve efficiency and data quality
- Ensure strong data governance, controls, and audit trails for performance information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- Professional qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent) is required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management, performance management, FP&A, or group finance roles.
- Prior experience in financial services, banking, investment, or diversified group structures is an advantage.
- Strong experience working at Group or multi-entity level.
