GIS Training Officer at Sambus Geospatial Nigeria Limited

Role Summary

• The GIS Training Officer is in charge of executing all GIS workflows and training needs for client organizations and their end-users. With the assistance of the team lead and GIS Developer, the GIS Training Officer will implement new workflows that are relevant to market needs and sales requests. Part of this role includes supporting the provision of professional services for client organizations and their end-users.

Responsibilities
Back-end:
Internal I.T. support duties

• Lead the capacity building of staff and clients in software modification workflows and tasks.

Front-end:

• Technical Support for client organizations and end-users
• Troubleshooting Esri products based on client issues.
• Attending to clients’ software and hardware support requests.
• Perform software installations, GPS configurations and other relevant technical support processes.
• Work closely with the GIS Developer to develop new workflows for market development and new sales leads.

Training Services Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the technical team lead and other departments to execute projects and software training for client organizations and end users.
• Developing training schedules based and client requirements.
• Developing training manuals when needed.
• Evaluation of training services and quality of training services

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in GIS/Geospatial field or related area.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in I.T, Geospatial/SaaS/GIS or related industries.

Skills:

• Familiarity with at least one of the following ESRI, Trimble, Harris and Wingtra systems
• Extensive GIS systems training knowledge and experience.
• Model building and knowledge of other tools such as ArcGIS, SQL, GIS database design will be an advantage. This will include the production of a full Training Needs Analysis
• Knowledge of GIS Analysis and workflow
