    General Manager, Commercial

    JOB PURPOSE:

    • Lead the development and implementation of the Commercial strategy for the Group, in alignment with the business plan, driving commercial value optimization, and assurance for the company's enterprise.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Facilitate process for developing and executing near and long-term business and commercial strategy, in line with the corporate aspirations of the company (and its affiliate businesses)
    • Facilitate the development of the annual Commercial plan and budget for all of the company's businesses as derived from the company's corporate objectives.
    • Cascade the company’s corporate commercial goals and objectives to the various functions (Procurement, Logistics and Materials Management, contract Management, Bids and Tendering), ensuring alignment between functional and corporate commercial objectives.
    • Coordinate commercial transaction processes, ensuring the inputs of all the relevant functions (Technical, Legal, HSE, Finance, etc.) are integrated and operationalized into the deal process.
    • Act as custodian of the Commercial Risk Management framework, facilitating its identification, issues mitigation and its integration with the business planning.
    • Evaluate emerging projects and opportunities, performs data gathering, economic analyses, and financial analysis, including sensitivity studies, to assess and advice on the commercial opportunities therein.
    • Guide/drive innovative and leading-edge business development and commercial opportunity maturation for the company, developing customer-focused offerings to meet customer needs in an evolving marketplace.
    • Responsible for overseeing a strategic framework for operationalizing the company's service offerings, deal making, customer service management, business and market competitive intelligence etc.
    • Evaluate, define, and prepare relevant market assessments and commercial pricing analyses and forecasts suitable for business requirements.
    • Responsible for value creation through cost optimization, overseeing the creation and implementation of the contracting strategy through the SCM unit to ensure this is achieved.
    • Drive the consistent and end-to-end commercial success in the company’s interaction with suppliers, vendors, etc. and in our entire procurement processes.
    • Project manage all commercial deals and transactions, ensuring they are in line with approved mandate, regulatory standards and that business value is sustained.
    • Provide periodic/ ad hoc market intelligence reports, ensuring Management and the Board of Directors are up to date with key changes and trends in the oil & gas industry.
    • Responsible for overseeing the cycle of commercial value creation, realization, optimization, and assurance across the business (and affiliates) to ensure the commercial strategy and goals are achieved.
    • Plan and implement a hierarchy for reporting all issues and KPIs across the commercial team.
    • Provide business and people leadership, change management for the commercial team.

    REQUISITE QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Social Sciences, or related field of study is preferred. A related Master’s degree will be desirable.
    • Must have at least 20 years of professional experience, with extensive commercial and SCM experience with at least 5+ years in a senior management role.
