    College Counselor

    Job Summary

    • The College Counsellor plays a critical role in supporting the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students and staff.
    • This position involves providing professional guidance and counselling services, performing psychological assessments, and offering support during personal or academic crises. 
    • The ideal candidate is empathetic, resourceful, and able to maintain confidentiality and trust while working within an academic setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide academic, personal, and career counselling to students and staff.
    • Conduct psychological assessments and offer appropriate interventions.
    • Identify students experiencing academic or emotional challenges and develop tailored support plans.
    • Offer crisis intervention and case management support when necessary.
    • Maintain confidential student records and track progress.
    • Support the development of a positive and inclusive school environment.
    • Collaborate with faculty and administrators to implement wellness and development programs.
    • Handle administrative duties related to counselling programmes and student well-being initiatives.

    Qualifications

    • B.Sc. in Guidance & Counselling, Psychology, or a related field in Education.
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational institution.
    • Proficient in psychological assessment, case management, crisis intervention, and ethical/legal counseling practices.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or as part of a team.
