Coatings/Inspection Supervisor at SPIE Oil & Gas Services

The Quality Inspector (Coatings) (ICorr / NACE Level 2 and 3) is responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards and procedures that regulate the preparation and application of coatings and surface treatments.

The Quality Inspector will also recommend methods to improve overall quality and assist in analysing quality concerns.
Role includes but is not limited to:

• Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and construction/installation activities on site.
• Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances reports.
• Control of storage and certification of consumables.
• Performs qualifications of coating processes.
• Checks surface preparation.
• Checks and records atmospheric conditions prior to starting of painting operations.
• Carries out wet and dry film thickness checks.
• Monitors observations of the correct coding cycles.
• Verifies the correct colour-coding and painting.
• Performs visuals inspections.
• Performs adhesion testing.
• Performs penetration testing.
• Evaluates impact testing.
• Performs visual checks after blasting.

We are primarily looking for a candidate who demonstrates the following skills / Profile:
Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) or NACE qualification Level 2 and Level 3
Technical coating experience to include the following:

• Painting and coating specifications
• Flaw/discontinuity identification and classification
• Blasting and surface parameters
• Painting techniques
• Coating repair systems
