Senior Accountant at Lusterquest

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, taxation, compliance, and financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
 

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards.
• Prepare management reports.
• Support strategic financial planning.

Accounting Operations

• Manage general ledger activities.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Review journal entries.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.

Treasury Management

• Monitor cash flow.
• Prepare cash forecasts.
• Manage banking relationships.
• Support foreign exchange transactions.
• Monitor liquidity positions.

Budgeting & Analysis

• Prepare annual budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis.
• Monitor departmental expenditures.
• Support financial forecasting.
• Provide financial insights to management.

Tax & Regulatory Compliance

• Prepare and file tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions.
• Liaise with tax authorities and auditors.

Internal Controls

• Strengthen accounting controls.
• Ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Recommend process improvements.
• Support audit activities.

Team Leadership

• Supervise junior accounting staff.
• Review work outputs.
• Provide coaching and mentoring.
• Drive continuous improvement within the finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• ACA, ACCA or ICAN certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience within fintech, banking, treasury or financial services is highly desirable.
