International Alert (IA) with support from Irish Aid is implementing “Powering Peace through Climate Action” project which seeks to pioneer approaches to build peace through inclusive and intersectional climate action in Benue and Sokoto states.
In line with our commitment to assisting communities impacted by climate change, we are actively seeking proposals from experienced and qualified vendors specializing in Supply of Solar Powered irrigation water Pumps. This initiative aims to address the pressing need for sustainable water supply solutions to our farmers affected by climate change. The purpose of this TOR is to engage in a competitive bidding process to secure the services of a reputable vendor capable of delivering high-quality water pumps.
Scope of Work
The selected vendor will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Providing solar-powered water pumps with specifications that meet project requirements.
- Delivering the equipment to designated project sites, installing, and commissioning the solar-powered water pumps.
- Training local personnel on the operation and basic maintenance of the equipment.
- Providing a warranty and post-installation maintenance services for a specified period.
Technical Specifications
The solar-powered water pumps must meet the following minimum specifications:
- Type: Submersible or surface pumps, as appropriate for the local water table.
- Capacity: Capable of delivering between 5,000 to 10,000 Liters per day.
- Solar Panels: High-efficiency photovoltaic panels with a minimum output of 250W.
- Pump Motor: DC motors with a maximum power consumption of 1.5 KW.
- Control Systems: Integrated control units with overvoltage, undervoltage, and overload protection.
- Materials: Corrosion-resistant materials suitable for prolonged exposure to water and weather conditions.
Installation and Training
- Site Assessment: Conduct a thorough site assessment to determine the optimal installation points.
- Installation: Complete installation and commissioning of the solar-powered water pumps at designated sites.
- Training: Provide hands-on training for local personnel on system operation, troubleshooting, and basic maintenance.
- Warranty: Minimum 2-year warranty on all equipment and installation workmanship.
- Maintenance: Offer post-installation maintenance services for at least 2 years, including regular inspections and prompt repair services.
The equipment and services provided must comply with international standards for quality, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Technical specifications and compliance with requirements.
- Supplier’s experience and track record.
- Cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Quality of the implementation plan and timeline.
- Warranty and maintenance service provisions.
Submission Requirements
Interested vendors are requested to submit the following documents:
- Itemized cost breakdown for the supply and training to project communities in Kware and Gwadabawa LGAs, Sokoto State Nigeria.
- Documentation of the vendor's experience and expertise in similar projects, including references from past clients.
- Confirmation of compliance with all relevant licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements.
- Proposed terms and conditions, including payment schedule, warranties, and liability clauses.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Cost-effectiveness and value for money.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in related area.
- Compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements.
- Proposed timeline for project completion.
Selection Process
After the submission deadline, International Alert will review all proposals and may conduct interviews or site visits with shortlisted vendors. The selected vendor will be notified accordingly.
