Role
We are seeking a competent and experienced Boom Truck (Self-Loader)/Heavy Duty Operator to support our logistics and field operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of boom trucks and heavy-duty vehicles to load, transport, and unload materials, equipment, and machinery across various project sites in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate boom trucks, cranes, and other heavy-duty vehicles to transport and lift company equipment and materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles and lifting components are in optimal condition.
- Load and unload heavy equipment using self-loader functionality, ensuring safe handling and securing of loads.
- Comply with all safety standards, traffic regulations, and JC International’s QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) procedures.
- Report any mechanical faults, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly to the Supervisor or Fleet Maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, inspection reports, and delivery logs.
- Assist in routine maintenance and minor repairs where necessary.
- Ensure proper housekeeping of vehicle and loading area at all times
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience operating boom trucks, cranes, or other heavy-duty vehicles.
- Valid Nigerian Class E Driver’s License (or equivalent).
- Certification or practical experience in crane/boom truck operations will be an added advantage.
- Sound knowledge of lifting operations, rigging, and load safety procedures.
- Good understanding of road routes, site safety, and logistics planning.
- Ability to work long hours and travel across various locations in Nigeria.
- Strong sense of discipline, safety consciousness, and responsibility.
Added Advantage
- Prior experience in the oil & gas, construction, or logistics industry.
- Basic mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge for handling minor breakdowns or repairs.
- Familiarity with LOLER and lifting operation safety standards.
