    Area Business Manager

    Job Summary: The Area Business Manager will be responsible for overseeing an economic area that can generate (or grow to generate) at least three hundred million naira in monthly in sales volume, achieve positive contribution margins and grow an active base of at least three thousand active retailers.

    Purpose

    The Area Business Manager will oversee the daily operations of account managers, vehicle sales representatives and the depot operations lead that are assigned to a particular geographical area. They work with their team members to ensure customer engagement targets, the revenue numbers and the service delivery SLAs for the assigned area are met.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Achieve the agreed retailer retention ratio for the area by ensuring that the account managers make the right number and quality of retailer meetings.
    • Work with the Regional Sales Capability Manager to ensure that the right number and quality of account managers are active in assigned territories.
    • Work with the depot operations lead(s) in the area to achieve the agreed dispatched and delivered numbers for both pull and push sales in the area.
    • Work with the regional depot operations manager to ensure access to a wide variety of products at the right pricing in the area.
    • Work with the Regional Outbound Sales Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to drive outbound sales growth within the area.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with top accounts and partners in the area to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
    • Evaluate KPIs (retailer retention numbers, sales volume, product availability, customer growth, delivery experience and customer experience) daily, weekly, and monthly.
    • Provide regular reports on market trends and competitors’ activity to regional business manager.
    • Ensure strict adherence to sales route mapping.
    • Identify outlet channels for product SKUs and untapped markets to be served and milk the sales opportunities.

    Requirements (Skills and Qualifications):

    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field.
    • Proven track record in achieving sales targets in a similar role.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • At least 3 years of field sales managerial experience
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Relevant experience in a similar role.

    Job Specification

    • Driven independent thinker with a strong bias for action, who is willing to actively participate in tasks and projects.
    • Exhibit a high level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
