    API Sales Associate

    About the Role

    • We're looking for a results-driven API Sales Associate to be the engine of revenue growth for Quidax's API business. This isn't just a sales job; it's a chance to be at the forefront of our expansion, converting high-potential leads into high-volume partners.
    • You'll manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and outreach to demoing our solutions and closing deals. We need a doer, a B2B sales expert who is comfortable speaking with technical audiences and business leaders alike. You'll play a critical role in bringing our innovative API solutions to new markets and building a thriving ecosystem of high-volume merchants.

    What You’ll Be Owning

    • You'll be a B2B sales specialist and a strategic owner of our API revenue growth. Your main goal is to drive our sales engine, from initial contact to closing high-volume deals, and turn our API into the go-to solution for merchants and businesses processing significant transaction volumes across Africa and beyond.

    Sales Engine & Growth

    Within 3 months:

    • Build and consistently maintain a pipeline of 100 qualified high-volume API/B2B leads monthly, targeting merchants with a potential trading volume of over $1M.
    • Establish a consistent outreach cadence, making at least 9 outbound contacts with high-volume API/B2B clients weekly.
    • Master the Quidax API product demo and book a minimum of 20 demo calls with qualified high-volume clients monthly.
    • Close your first 2 high-volume merchant deals, setting the foundation for future volume growth.
    • Develop and document your sales playbook for prospecting, qualifying, and managing leads through the CRM to ensure 100% of activities are tracked.

    Within 6 months:

    • Achieve a milestone of at least $2M in monthly API transaction volume processed from new merchants you have closed.
    • Refine your sales process to improve the lead-to-demo conversion rate by 15-20%.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to leverage at least 2 Account-Based Marketing campaigns, targeting the top 10-20 enterprise accounts to generate qualified opportunities.

    Within 12 months:

    • Contribute to new market expansion plans by generating an initial pipeline of 100 qualified leads in a new target market.
    • Streamline your sales process to shorten the sales cycle from first contact to closed deal by 15%.
    • Identify and nurture 1-2 strategic partnership opportunities per quarter that can drive significant lead flow or volume.
    • Achieve at least $12m in monthly traded volumes from high volume merchants closed in the past 12 months

    Biggest Challenges You’ll Tackle

    • Translating tech to dollars: You'll turn complex API features into clear business value that drives adoption and revenue.
    • Selling to product and engineering leaders: You'll need to win over technical decision-makers like CTOs and developers who will ask all the hard questions.
    • Winning B2B deals in a market that’s skeptical or crypto-curious: You'll be closing deals in a competitive African fintech landscape where potential partners may be new to crypto.
    • Balancing speed with compliance: You'll need to move quickly to close deals while navigating the important compliance and regulatory considerations in financial services marketing.
    • Navigating a complex funnel: You'll build strategies to capture and nurture leads through a long, complex B2B sales cycle.
    • Keeping your pipeline hot and your close rate healthy: You will be responsible for maintaining sales momentum and hitting targets, even in a slow quarter.
    • Managing cross-functional collaboration: You'll be the central hub, working with sales, product, and engineering to ensure smooth launches and consistent messaging.

    What We’re Looking For

    • You have 2 - 4 years of experience closing B2B sales deals in a fintech, SaaS, or API-first company, and you have the receipts to prove it.
    • You deeply understand the fintech ecosystem, especially in Africa. You know how APIs work, who needs them, and can translate complex technical features into clear business value for developers, CTOs, and business owners.
    • You are organized, persistent, and know how to work a complex, long-cycle B2B sales funnel from prospecting to close.
    • You write clearly, follow up like a pro, present with confidence, and aren’t afraid of a little ‘no’.
    • You have the cultural awareness to sell effectively across diverse African markets.
    • You are comfortable with CRM systems and analytics tools, using data to manage your pipeline, provide accurate forecasts, and find growth opportunities.
    • You have experience working cross-functionally with marketing, product, and engineering teams to ensure a smooth sales process and consistent messaging.
    • You get bonus points if you’ve sold crypto products or already have a few developers in your contact list.
