Job Description

• As the Legal counsel, you would work in a team oriented environment and would report directly to a fantastic Head Legal.
• You would be responsible for providing advice on oil and gas exploration and production operations and related matters/transaction (i.e. exploration, development and production issues, community, land and pilotage issues).
• You would provide advice on capital markets transactions, debt and equity financing and be very adept at negotiations.
• You would be responsible for drafting and previewing legal documents (i.e. letters, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, memorandums).
• You would also be responsible for coordinating the smooth and efficient management of litigation and outside counsel (i.e. coordinating and directing case strategy, discovery, drafting/editing pleadings and interviewing and preparing witnesses and negotiations).
• You would also perform all other duties that are necessary and reasonably attached to this Legal Counsel position and the fulfilment of its responsibilities.
• For the successful Legal Counsel, you should have a Law degree, Master’s in law would definitely be an added advantage), minimum of 8years experience in an E & P company.
• You should have oil and gas transaction/litigation experience and exposure and would be great if you have worked in a law firm for about 2years.
