    Youth Counsellor

    ( Ibeshe Ikorodu)

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a youth worker, you'll need to:

    • Responsible for the health and Well-being of the Children in his care at the Centre.
    • Accountable for the monthly financial allocation to the Centre
    • Supervise the children activities at the Centre
    • Responsible for the Counselling of the children
    • Responsible for report of all incidence at the Centre
    • Serve as parent for the Children
    • Assess the needs of young people, and plan and deliver programs related to areas such as health, fitness, smoking, drugs, gangs, violence, relationships and bullying;
    • Regularly monitor and review the quality of the local youth work provision;
    • Run arts-based activities, community/environmental projects, residential activities, outdoor education and sporting activities;
    • Befriend and support young people in different settings, including outreach work;
    • Mentor, coach and support individuals and encourage greater social inclusion;
    • Work in partnership with professionals from other organizations that support young people such as social care, health, police, education, youth offending teams and local authorities;
    • Attend regular training and development opportunities to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and local policy developments;
    • Undertake administrative tasks, maintain effective recording systems and respond to queries;
    • Work with parents and community groups to win support for improved provision and act as an advocate for young people's interests;

    Qualification: BSc/B.Ed./ B.A. in Guidance and Counselling, Social Work or Educational Psychology

    FEO( Fund Raising and Evaluation Officer)

    THE ROLE (JOB SUMMARY):
    CLL has been developing in breadth and depth over the past few years and the capacity to support the organisation needs to increase. We are currently developing our fundraising systems and strategies and are looking for a competent and enthusiastic individual to help us ensure our long-term sustainability. The role of the FEO is an exciting opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to help us develop and improve our strategies, as well as sought-after skills in charity fundraising.

    Key Responsibilities/ Work activities
    Fundraising:

    • Help us develop exciting new creative community fundraising strategies through developing resources, working on publicity strategies and more.
    • Work with the Program Manager to develop strategy for recruiting major donors and organising successful fundraising events, including receptions for major donors.
    • Recruit new supporters and advocates, who represent CLL on a local level.
    • Develop attractive resources to accompany our strategy, supporting CLL Executive members in fundraising.
    • Research potential funding opportunities and make detailed applications to trust funds and potential donors; write and present proposals

    Monitoring/Evaluation:
    Develop key performance indicators and lead the development, standardisation and deployment of tools that capture appropriate quantitative and qualitative data to be used in monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

    Skills and qualities

    • Communication skills: writing dynamic funding proposals and inspiring people to commit to the cause in question.
    • Interpersonal skills: you will be constantly interacting with people, persuading them of the value of the organisation. Ability to work well as part of a small integrated team.
    • Research and analytical skills: ability to source and analyse information and statistics, research trends and assess costs.
    • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
    • Resilience and flexibility: fundraising can be a tough job.
    • Pro-active, confident, self-motivated individual.

    Qualification

    • BSc Marketing or any other related qualification with experience
    • Update and maintain accurate and complete databases on children and CLL activities; provide monitoring and evaluation reports as required by CLL funding partners in respect of any project or program.
    • Provide monthly reports, through the Program Manager, to the Executive Committee (EC) on all M& E activities during the month in review, and half yearly data analysis and evaluation reports.
    • Provide feedback to the PM and EC on all strategies and activities, and contribute in-put and ideas to improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of CLL operations.
    • Train CLL staff as necessary on the data collection tools and templates, and organise lessons learnt workshops/ review of program work plans as appropriate.
    • Facilitate documentation and reporting of assessments, program data, lessons learnt and best practices for internal and external sharing.
    • Assist with supervision and provision of basic education to children accessing the CLL drop-in centre.
    • Undertake any other duties assigned by the PM or the EC as necessary.
    • Establish clears systems and ensure regular applications are made.
    • Explore new and alternative source of funding to meet our agreed fundraising targets.
