School Principal at Rainbow Educational Services Limited

OVERVIEW

The principal is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the school. He oversees the staff, students, checks records and maintains discipline to achieve the overall educational success of the school.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Closely monitor and give constant progress reports on staff/students towards achieving the enunciated goals of the school.
• Coordinate, supervise, analyse and write reports on all tests and examinations conducted in the college.
• Ensure all statutory records are maintained and updated by teachers, e.g. diaries, registers, YLP, SOL, lesson notes, etc.
• Prepare the school’s academic timetable and cover promptly
• Ensure the school’s academic timetable is adequately followed and attendance of lessons by students/staff is promptly monitored.
• Monitor the preparation of students for academic competitions.
• Ensure registration of students for external examinations.
• Maintain discipline of students and staff.
• Liaise with all related bodies for unique programs that will boost the image of the school as a centre of excellence.
• Work in close contact with the heads of departments.
• Coordinate the activities of the heads of departments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in education.
• Registered teacher (TRCN)
• Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods.
• Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
• Proficient in computer skills.
• Availability to work extended hours on occasion.
• Excellent people skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Outstanding organisational skills.
